Nirvana and the Mighty K.C.

Update - 6/11/98: The opening page is not very different than it was before. Again, you click on the picture. The second page..well, I was just prompted to vote for the Top 25 Nirvana sites, in addition to signing the guestbook. The second page has improved quite a bit. There is still the "thank you" picture, with candles by each side (right and left). Now, the "frame" has improved quite a bit. Except under the KC Equipment FAQ (broken picture).

Under the "thank you" picture is quite a lot of stuff. This page, in my opinion, wants to know what you think. That's why it has some voting polls, including one where you can tell what you think about the page. Some of the polls include which member of the band is your favorite (are we forgetting good ol' Chad Channing here?)

Needless to say, this page still contains four pages of pictures. I will tell you right away the first row contains band pictures, which is good. The rest mostly contain pictures of Kurt. The second page is almost the same as the first, some pictures I have not seen before, or in a while. I think there is already one from the first page? As for the third and fourth page, there are some pictures that I have not seen before. This is mostly in 3x5 table, all in thumbnail. Ever thought of a fifth page?

Again in the page you will find the well-known KC Equimpment FAQ, giving you information about the equimpment he used on the tours, and videos. I never seen a Krist Novoselic Equipment FAQ, and it's quite imformative: giving you information on what he used for each album, and amplicfication. The "broken picture" turns out to be Dave's Equipment FAQ, although it's not a great big one. It shows the parts of the drums he used, but not what he used in recording and on tours.

The tabs section is about the same as it was in the old review.

Conclusion

Minor improvement. He seems to have improved on the graphics and pictures on this page a little bit. The FAQ's are very helpful, especially the Krist Novoselic FAQ. I hope to see more interesting pictures and FAQs along the way.

Old Review

This page has a nice photo of the guys in a pool, it took a while to download, must be my modem speed (28.8 :( ..) now if you look closely you'll see the name of the page near the back. Click on the picture, and this it what you will see. But before we do, you get a little pop-up asking you to vote for his site for the 'Top 25 Nirvana Sites.' Then you are asked to enter your name. Now you get a page, with or without frames, it depends on how big you have the screen. You will find the following in the left-hand corner:

Graphically, I am impressed with this page. It has a picture of the "Thank You" note (Wishkah CD). With [cute] candles beside it. The pictures section is pretty straight-foward. You might notice that there are four (4) pages, with a selection of 3x5, with a "bigger" one in the middle. These are in thumbnail form, and you can click on it to see the larger version of the picture. Windows Users - Hint: if you like the picture, and you want it on your desktop, right-mouse click on it, and go to 'Set As Wall Paper. Go to Control Panel and make the picture as a tile.

For some mysterious reason, Kurt's Equipment FAQ isn't really Kurt's Equipment FAQ. There's nothing there, except a movie of Kurt playing his guitar...hmm.

Whatever is with the Tabs, is something I like. He put a little program on there, and they are alphabetical, you click on the letter, and it shows a lot of bands. I guess this is a company orientated thing, however, it saves the time of typing the tabs yourself.

Now the Links section makes me more than empressed. It only shows a few links, but they are all in banner form. What's better, these are, for the most part, pages I haven't seen before.

Did I forget to mention you can "rate" his page? Look in the left hand corner.

Overall Impression

Good! This page is pretty good. I think this page has a lot of potential. It gives me a lot of good impressions with little things. All this page needs is more stuff. Don't get too hefty about the comments. Whenever you build a page, you should make it o-r-i-g-i-n-a-l in content.
