Peace, Love, Empathy: The Nirvana webpage

As much as I would hate to admit it, not every Nirvana website is very good. I do say a lot of times that there are sites that are "so-so." Those are the sites, to say the least, that put some effort into their site and updating. Sometimes, on the other hand, there will be sites that I review because I have nothing to hide from the web.

Some Things Are Just Not Appropriate

This goes in our lives and on the web. Some things are just not appropriate. Furthermore, this can go for designs also. Some things were appropriate at that time, or, they just are not needed or necessary. Some of the banners/ads on this site is definitely inappropriate, and, Kurt would shiver to the thought.

As for the graphical realm, the page is fairly lagging as compared to today's standard. I'm not talking about the tredeniest-graphical-pages per se, but you have to admit that the things that have came out make pages a lot easier to navigate, not to mention making them look a little nicer. There is a tile background of Kurt playing a guitar. Scroll down a tad bit and you'll have the menu which is in the center, following thereafter are links..which..most of them are outdated.

You also have the choice of recieving a newsletter. When you click on the text to get more information on it, you'll have to highlight the text because it is black. Ironically, the background is a little too dark for it also. The tabs is something you can download from an FTP server. It has a lot of tabs. If your smart enough, you can see when the files were last modified.

As for the lyrics, it contains: Bleach, Nevermind, Hoarmoaning, Incesticide, and In Utero. And some songs also: "I Hate Myself And I Want To Die;" "Curmudgeon;" "Marigold;" and "Oh The Guilt." There are only six (6) movie files, and I know for a fact that not nearly any of them work. The page has some sound files. Now, it does have a lot of songs. That I must admit. However the manner in which it is presented is not good. Take a look because Geffen did not get on Copyright stuff when these files were created. Keep in mind these [files] are from different sites.

Articles will be found on this page but it is not from the page. It does have a "so-so" collection (15 articles), which you probably have viewed already. Then you have the setlist for the Wishkah album. Then at the bottom are some links.

Conclusion

A short review should clarify everything for you. But we can all learn from this type of page. Pages like these are the ones that take away attention from other good, original pages because they are near the top of the line for search engines. Therefore people: a) click on them, and: b) waste their time and become frustrated. Take a look at the site, and learn from it.
