to Foreign Interests

Mochtar Riady is an ethnic Chinese banker in Jakarta, Indonesia. He started his financial empire in gun and drug running in the East Indies before World War II. Mochtar Riady later formed the $6 billion Lippo Group, headquartered in Jakarta, Indonesia.

John Huang, a top employee of Lippo Group, was named Assistant Secretary of Commerce for International Economic Policy by Bill Clinton . John Huang last year left the Commerce Department to become Vice-Chairman of the Democratic Finance Committee. (John Huang is a long time friend of Bill Clinton ).

Bill Clinton at a Democratic fundraiser earlier this summer: "And I'd like to thank my long-time friend, John Huang, for being so effective." (At fundraising; Summer of 1996).

The Wall Street Journal cites a Los Angeles Times story which says that a current Commerce Department official said that "Mr. John Huang was in a perfect position to influence U.S.-Indonesia policy. He had all the information, he had access to CIA information. He was in a position to influence the State Department."

Last month, the DNC returned an illegal $250,000 contribution handled by John Huang after it was revealed by the press that it came from a South Korean company. (Cheong Am).

The Republicans want them to return $425,000 from and Indonesian couple with ties to the Lippo Group. The couple cannot be found.

A total of $l40,000 was raised in a Buddhist temple in California by John Huang and Vice President Al Gore (who didn't know that he was in a Buddhist temple). A woman named Man Ya Shih associated with the temple has told the Wall St. Journal that she was given $5,000 in cash by a democratic activist and asked to immediately write a check for that amount to the Democratic National Committee. Money Laundering.

The President of LIPPO Securities, as subsidiary of the Lippo Group, was appointed in December of l994 by former U.S. Trade Representative Mickey Kantor to the Investment and Services Policy Advisory Committee. In February of l994, U.S. Trade Representative Kantor suspended a review of Indonesian human rights violations allowing Indonesia to keep its trade privileges with the U.S. which are worth over $600,000,000 in sales to Indonesian companies.

(Money raised is repaid by suspending human rights investigations).

The Indonesian government has led a war on East Timor, 200,000 killed. The Clinton Administration has just approved the sale of F-l6 fighter jets to presumably continue waging their war on the East Timorese.

The Import-Export Bank has issued letters of Credit in the sum of $900,000 to James Riady (son of LIPPO founder Mochtar). The President of the taxpayer-financed Import-Export Bank is a Clinton appointee, Maria Luisa Haley*. James Riady (Lippo) has issued letter of credit for $900,000 to Lippo. James Riady has been discussing with Haley the EX-IM financing of a $1 billion project by LIPPO to build a power plant in Northern China. The plant constructor is a Little Rock unit of Entergy Corp.

*Maria Luisa Haley is the ex-wife of John Haley co-defendent of Jim Guy Tucker in a case involving a cable TV franchise in Jakarta, Indonesia, set up by the Rose Law Firm lawyer (Joe Giroir) and LIPPO.

Mochtar Riady and Jackson Stephans once owned the Worthen Bank in Little Rock, Ark. Mochtar's son James Riady was the president of Worthen. The Worthen Bank financed Bill Clinton's elections campaign and bailed out the l992 Presidential campaign with a $3 million loan at a crucial juncture. Worthen Bank invested in Little Rock-based World Wide Travel that handled Clinton campaign travel and was the group that took over all White House travel. This is the scheme that resulted in Travelgate .

Mac McLarty (first Chief of Staff) once worked at Worthen and then Entergy Corp. (Entergy is group building power plant in Northern China).

A co-owner of the Worthen Bank was Joe Giroir, managing partner of the Rose Law Firm. Primary Council for Worthen was Rose Law. Joe Giroir, Hillary, Webb Hubbell and Vince Foster defended Stephans, Inc. in a case that stemmed from a failed takeover effort involving BCCI.

Giroir still represents LIPPO and has brokered ventures between Lippo and Tyson Foods to improve sales of Tyson Chicken in the Far East. The Clinton Admin. has provided $2l million in funds to build a new giant airport in a remote unpopulated area in Northern Arkansas to be used to ship Tyson/LIPPO chicken to the Far East. (Webb Hubbell was paid over $250,000 by the Lippo Group during the same time frame he was going to cooperate with Ken Starr--Hubbell did not cooperate with Starr).

Mochtar Riady, founder of Lippo, created LIPPO Finance & Investment, a Small Business Administration backed lending company in Little Rock with Vernon Weaver as Chairman. Weaver is now Clinton's U.S. Representative to the European Union.

The Riady's owned the First National Bank in Mena, Arkansas, a bank used to launder drug money. The Los Angeles-based LIPPO Bank has twice received 'cease and desist' orders from the FDIC for violating money laundering statutes.
