Origins

Origins of "The Guide to Love, Hate and Euthanasia" go back into the early stages of 1996. One day, Kate and Liv were walking across the good old school yard when someone called out "Liv! Kate!". Emily got really confused and asked the person (who's identity is now forgotten) whether they had just called out "Love! Hate!" because it sounded heaps like it. The person said, no, correcting Emily's mistake. Emily was astounded that "Liv! Kate!" could sound so much like "Love! Hate!" so from then on they were known to their intimate friends as this. Not all the time, just sometimes. Emily was interested to know what her name could be. As "Bemily" sounded a little stupid, Liv thought of the first word that came to her head that started with "e", "Euthanasia". So there they were. Love, Hate and Euthanasia. Names.

Not long after, Kate (Hate) was strolling through a newsagent and found a specials table. She picked up a book that looked interesting, stupid and funny, and paid the bargain price of $1.95 for it. The book she had in her hand was "Somone and Simon's Stupid Book". (Unfortunatly the book's actual title is forgotten so Someone is the best we can do!) Hate decided to give this book to Liv (Love) and not keep it for herself because she's just generous that way. Love read the book and laughed so hard her eyes nearly popped out. It was so funny and was matching their humour right down to the appendix page.

And then, like a light bulb dinging above someone's head when they get an idea, it came to Euthanasia, Hate and Love. Why were they laughing at some complete strangers book when they could laugh at each other's creativeness? The Guide to Love, Hate and Euthanasia was born.

The rest is history. We went online, and we know it will only be a matter of time before Love, Hate and Euthanasia conquer the world.

UPDATE! When Em was cleaning out her room the other day (Kate looks on in admiration for something she is incapable of doing) guess what she found. "Trev and Simon's Stupid Book"! Yay! Sorry, Trev, for forgetting your name. We knew it started with a "T", how's that? So, yeah, if you ever manage to find a copy of this fine publication and you have the same sense of humour as us, buy it! So there.
