This is an odd collection of sort of random tid-bits of info that relate to Jude's lyrics...sort of like if Jude's songs were on Pop-Up Video...enjoy
Jude must not like spaghetti. He says in the 430 N. Harper Ave. insert about "not eating spaghetti" and later on says he will "stock the shelves without spaghetti". Then in No One is Really Beautiful in the song "I'm Sorry Now" he says "I hate spaghetti"....so one must infer Jude had some horrible experience with the noodles and tomato food
In "You Mama You" he talks about "laid back Kerouac", he refers to of course Jack Kerouac who wrote On the Road
Also in "You Mama You" he uses the phrase "Mellencamp towns" which I assume he's aluding to the song by John Mellencamp "Small Town"
In "Charlie Says" he says "I do not know but it's been said the here Hogan was found dead, with something wrapped around his head." Well here he refers to the dead actor and rumored sex obsessed star of tv's Hogan's Hero's, Bob Crane. He was murdered in 1978, and was apparently bludgened in the head.
Marvin Gaye wanted "Sexual Healing" which is apparently what Jude wants in "I'm Sorry Now" when he compares himself to Gaye.
Ironic thought: Jude sings about needing to get "Out of L.A." however his song song "I Know" is on the City of Angels soundtrack.
In "She Gets the Feeling" he says that "The words of the prophets are no longer written on the subway walls One of them lost his hair the other publishes poetry here and there and that is all" He refers to the line in "The Sound of Silence" by Simon (who I think is the publisher) and by Garfunkel (who lost alot of his hair).
