If your walls aren't jam-packed enough with posters and pin-ups of your favorite stars,get ready for the latest edition to the illustrious list of rockin boy bands.The Moffatts hail from our neighbor to the north,Canada,and they've already created quite a stir their European and Canadian debut pop album,Chapter One-A New Beginning.Infact,our Canadian readers have been writing,begging us to put The Moffatts in TEEN BEAT.So,we thought we'd jump the gun on introducing them to our readers here in the good ol USA.Their first single is set for a U.S. release in March and their first album is set for a US release in May,so you'll just have to be patient when it comes to giving them a listen,but as far as letting your eyeballs have a little fun,come meet The Moffatts.TRIPLETS!?-The Moffatts comsist of 14-yr-old triplets,Bob(drums/percussion),Clint(bass) and Dave(keyboards,percussion)and their older brother,Scott,who at 16,rounds out the band with his killer guitar skills.The guys all sing vocals,and believe it or not,they got their start performing country sings!What caused the change of heart to go from country to pop?"We'll never forget playing country music,but pop/rock is much more universal.People in Asia and Europe can understand it.Country's not a well known music everywhere",Clint explains.The Moffatts were the youngest group ever to sign a major label recording contract(with A&M Nashville),and they all play their own instruments.They've written and recorded over 100 songs.Let's see,that makes them musicians,singers and song-writers?Talk about multi-talented.MOFFATT MAYHEM-Like the Backstreet Boys and 'N sync,The Moffatts went to Europe and Asia to try out their pop sound,and needless to say,the folks over there went wild for the brotherly quartet.Their first two singles,"I'll Be There For You" and "Miss You Like Crazy" made them instead heartthrobs and world class celebs.In Singapore,an estimated 800 fans lined up for six hours to gain admittance to Tower Records when they found out that the guys were signing autographs!Talk about a dedicated fan base!Germany,The Phillipines,Thailand,and Canada have all gone ape for The Moppetts,oh,we mean The Moffatts!IN GOOD COMPANY-Taking their music on the Europe/Asia route isn't the only thing that The Moffatts have in common with Backstreet Boys and 'N sync.All three bands(and Aaron Carter too!)participated in the recording of "Let The Music Heal Your Soul",a song written to benefit the cuase of music therapy.Fourteen music groups came together to create the super-group Bravo All Stars.All proceeds from the sale of the single are going towards the further development of music therapy,which has helped children all over the world overcome a wide variety of disabling conditions.The single has already made a presence on the Billboard charts here in the US,and went all the way to #5 overseas!Judging by the company The Moffatts are keeping,they're on a road to sure success!
