Peavey Studio Pro 112
Price Paid: US $230
Features: 10
This amp has lots of features for the money. 65watts,
two-channel, ext speaker output, reverb, etc... I
really like the fact that this amp is so light weight.
Sound Quality: 10
For a solid-state amp, this is one of the best on the market.
Good clean sounds. I'm kind of surprised that
the trans-tube sounds so good, also. This is my first experience
with a Peavey trans-tube amp, and I must
say that I'm impressed by the good clean and warm overdrive tone.
It really does sound like a tube amp,
even though its not. I'm hard-pressed to hear a difference
between this and a tube amp. Try it for yourself,
though.
Reliability: 10
As expected, this amp is VERY reliable. One of the greatest
things about solid state amps is that they last
forever, and don't need maintenance.

Overall Rating: 10
I would buy this amp again. When I bought it, I was looking for a
low-priced high-quality amp that I
could run in stereo. I ended up buying two of these amps for
stereo and I love them both. They sound
great, have plenty of power and are rock-solid. Even though they
only have 65w, they sound like 100w.
Don't be fooled. I was also looking at the Express 112 amp when I
bought this one. Overall, I actually
liked the sound of the Blue-Marvel speaker better than the
Sheffield in the Express 112. The Express 112
has a t-dynamics control which doesn't seem to do ANYTHING.. I
just didn't think it was worth the extra
$$$. I also looked at the Bandit, but wasn't as impressed as I
thought I should have been. The Studio Pro
has lots of volume and power... I was hard pressed to hear much
of a difference in the volume level except
the Bandit gets louder at a lower volume setting. In my opinion,
this translates into LESS CONTROL. Go
for the Studio Pro 112... better yet, get two of them.
