Your Worst Nightmare

Written by Shawn Cox

I am drugs. I am everywhere. I talk to you in the night. I control your body, your mind, and your soul. I will become your worst nightmare, but I will make you believe that I am your best friend.

I am here when you need leave to the world, but when you try to come back to get rid of me, I will take souvenirs, maybe your life, your house, your job, your girlfriend, or your boyfriend. I am your ruler. I was here before time and have lived with Satan for years. I fight to destory normal life.

Remember, I might make you high, but in the end I am your suicide. Before I go, I would like you to know that somehow I will always be back, in some new form, in some new horror. You might not drink or inhale me now, but I will be here for you later.

Somehow, someway, one by one, I will hurl you into Hell. There you will live in horror forever. Before that, I will give you a life filled with pain and fear. You will hurt your family and lose your friends. you will sell your body, trade your mind, -- you will kill for me.

For I am drugs, your master, your friend, your worst nightmare.

Phenomenal Woman

by Maya Angelou

Pretty women wonder where my secret lies
I'm not cute or built to suit a model's fashion size
But when I start to tell them
They think I'm telling lies.
I say
It's in the reach of my arms
The span of my hips
The stride of my steps
The curl of my lips.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally
Phenomenal woman
That's me.
I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please
And to a man
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees
Then they swarm around me
A hive of honey bees.
I say
It's the fire in my eyes
And the flash of my teeth
The swing of my waist
And the joy in my feet.
I'm a woman
Phenomenal woman
That's me.
Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me
They try so much
But they can't touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them
They say they still can't see.
I say
It's in the arch of my back
The sun of my smile
The ride of my breasts
The grace of my style.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally
Phenomenal woman
That's me.
Now you understand
Just why my head's not bowed
I don't shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud
When you see me passing
It ought to make you proud.
I say
It's in the click of my heels
The bend of my hair
The palm of my hand
The need for my care.
'Cause I'm a woman
Phenomenally
Phenomenal woman
That's me.
Gotta love her!

Death Of The Innocent

Author: David J. Riddell

I went to a party, Mom, I remembered what you said.

You told me not to drink, Mom, so I drank soda instead.
I really felt proud inside, Mom, the way you said I would.
I didn't drink and drive, Mom, even though the others said I should.
I know I did the right thing, mom, but as I pulled out into the road, the other car didn't see me, Mom, and hit me like a load.
As I lay there on the pavement, mom, I hear the policeman say, the other guy is drunk, Mom, and now I'm the one who will pay.
I'm lying here dying, Mom, I wish you'd get here soon.
How could this happen to me, Mom? My life just burst like a balloon.
There is blood all around me, Mom, and most of it is mine.
I hear the medic say, Mom, I'll die in a short time.
I just want to tell you, Mom, I swear I didn't drink.
It was the others, Mom. The others didn't think.
He was probably at the same party as I. The only difference is he drank and I will die.
Why do people drink, Mom? It can ruin your whole life.
I'm feeling sharp pains now. Pains just like a knife.
The guy who hit me is walking, Mom, and I don't think it's fair.
I'm lying here dying and all he can do is stare.
Tell my brother not to cry, Mom. Tell Daddy to be brave.
And when I go to heaven, Mom, put "Daddy's Girl" on my grave.
Someone should have told him, Mom, not to drink and drive.
If only they had told him, Mom, I would still be alive.
My breath is getting shorter, Mom. I'm becoming very scared.
Please don't cry for me, Mom. When I needed you, you were always there.
I have one last question, Mom, before I say good bye.
I didn't drink and drive, so why am I the one to die?

Always Say I Love You

Brittney loved basketball

Friends and parties too
And when it came to painting
That's all she wanted to do

She painted everything she saw
Brids, flowers, the sky
Somedays she sat at her window
And painted everything that passed her by

But lately she'd been feeling woozy
Her muscles ached a lot
And her parents got kind of worried
So they took her to the doc

The doctor took a couple of tests
To see if everything was ok
Then the nurse came out with a look of sadness
And this is what she had to say;

"I'm sorry but you've got leukemia,"
"You've got about 3 months more."
Then Brittney got up and ran out of the room
And slammed the office door

She ran down the street screaming
And cried her eyes out dry
And stayed up all night
Wondering what it's like to die

Her parents held her tightly
And said, "We love you,"
"We'll make your last few months the greatest,"
"We'll do anything for you."

So Brittney and her parents moved to Florida
To live by the sea
Because Brittney loved the ocean
And when she dies, that's where she wanted to be

She spent her days painting
And horseback riding in by the bay
But one day she met this guy
And his name was Jay

They collected seashells together
And talked about all kinds of things
And then one day while walking
He handed her a ring

It said that, "I love you,"
Which brought tears to Brittney's eyes
And when he put it on her finger
She began to cry

"I've got leukemia, and about a month more."
Then Jay said, " No matter what, I love you,"
"And no matter what, you are the one I adore."

So they spent everyday together
And swam in the Atlantic all day
But Brittney was getting weaker
And it was hard for her stay awake

So one day Brittney painted her picture
And gave it to Jay
She said, "I want you to remember me,"
"Even when I leave this place."

But one day while they were walking
And searching for seashells in the sand
Brittney collapsed and started to lose her breath
And said to Jay, "Please hold my hand."

"I love you more then anyone,"
"You are my only true love,"
"But now my time is up,"
"And I'll watch over you from above,"

Then Brittney's body was lifeless
As she lay in Jay's arms
And he sat there all day
And kept her safe from harm

I hope this teaches you a lesson
To tell someone you love them whenever you can
Because maybe they'll be gone tomorrow
And you wont be there to hold their hand

Because love is everything to everybody
Without it, the world would be dead
So always tell someone you love them
A parent, a lover, a friend

Letter From A Friend

Author Unknown

I just had to write to tell you how much I love and care for you. Yesterday, I saw you walking and laughing with your friends; I hoped that soon you'd want Me to walk along with you, too. So, I painted a sunset to close your day and whispered a cool breeze to refresh you. I waited- you never called- I just kept on loving you.

As I watched you fall asleep last night, I wanted so much to touch you. I spilled moonlight onto your face- trickling down your cheeks as so many tears have. You didn't even think of me; I wanted so much to comfort you.

The next day I exploded a brilliant sunrise into the glorious morning for you. But you woke up late and rushed off to work- you didn't even notice. My sky became cloudy and My tears were the rain.

I love you. Oh, If you'd only listen. I really love you. I try to say it in the quiet of the green meadow and in the blue sky. The wind whispers My love throughout the treetops and spills it into the vibrant colors of all the flowers. I shout it out to you in the thunder of the great waterfalls and compose love songs for birds to sing for you. I warm you with the clothing of My subshine and perfume the air with nature's sweet scent. My love for you is deeper than any ocean and greater than any need in your heart. If you'd only realize how I care.

My Dad sends His love. I want you to meet Him- He cares too. Fathers are just that way. So, please call on Me soon. No matter how long it takes. I'll wait- because I love you. Your Friend, Jesus

Time

Author Unknown

Time is...

Too slow for those who wait,

Too swift for those who fear,

Too long for those who grieve,

Too short for those who rejoice,

But for those who love------time is eternity

What If

This was sent to me by my Godmother

What if GOD couldn't take the time to bless us today because we couldn't take the time to thank Him yesterday?

What if GOD decided to stop leading us tomorrow because we didn't follow Him today?

What if we never saw another flower bloom because we grumbled when GOD sent the rain?

What if GOD didn't walk with us today because we failed to recognize it as His day?

What if GOD took away the Bible tomorrow because we would not read it today?

What if GOD took away His message because we failed to listen to the messenger?

What if GOD didn't send His only begotten Son because He wanted us to be prepared to pay the price for sin.

What if the door of the church was closed because we did not open the door of our heart?

What if GOD stopped loving and caring for us because we failed to love and care for others?

What if GOD would not hear us today because we would not listen to Him yesterday?

What if GOD answered our prayers the way we answer His call to service?

What if GOD met our needs the way we give Him our lives???

If You Love

This is a little spoof on one of my favorite poems

If you love something, set it free.

If it comes back, it was and always will be yours.

If it never returns, it was never yours to begin with.

If, however, it just sits in your living room, messes up your stuff, eats your food, uses your telephone, takes your money, and never appears to have noticed that you actually set it free in the first place, You either married it or gave birth to it!

A HUG!

A hug is a wonderful gift to share;

way to show each other that we care.

There is so much a hug is able to do,

when you feel those arms, holding you.

It is a place to feel safe and warm;

a comfort for a sad heart that is torn.

An expression of the love in our heart,

for ones who we wish, never to be apart.

A greeting when we meet to say hello,

or to say goodbye when we have to go.

It can hold us up when life gets us down,

and make us smile, instead of frown.

A hug can be given for no reason at all,

and given to those, both big and small.

We're never too old to feel the joy it brings,

as it is one of life's, most pleasing things.

And for all of this beauty, a hug is free;

costs nothing, yet means so much to me.

We should all hug another to show we care,

for to feel a warm hug, nothing can compare

Friendship

IF I COULD CATCH A RAINBOW .....

I WOULD DO IT JUST FOR YOU

AND SHARE WITH YOU ITS BEAUTY

ON THE DAYS YOU'RE FEELING BLUE..

IF I COULD BUILD A MOUNTAIN

YOU COULD CALL YOUR VERY OWN

A PLACE TO FIND SERENITY

A PLACE TO BE ALONE~~~~~~~

IF I COULD TAKE YOUR TROUBLES

I WOULD TOSS THEM IN THE SEA~~~~~~

BUT ALL THESE THINGS I'M FINDING

ARE IMPOSSIBLE FOR ME,

I CANNOT BUILD A MOUNTAIN

OR CATCH A RAINBOW FAIR

BUT LET ME BE WHAT I KNOW BEST

A FRIEND THAT'S ALWAYS THERE.

There are those who pass like ships in the night,

Who meet for a moment, then sail out of sight

With ever a backwards glance of regret

Folks we know briefly, and then quickly forget.

Then there are those friends who sail together

Through quiet waters and stormy weather

Helping each other through joy and through strife

And they are the ones that give meaning to life.

Do It Anyway

People are often unreasonable,

Illogical, and self-centered;
Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind,
People may accuse you of selfish,
ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.

If you are successful,
You will win some false friends
and some true enemies;
Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and frank,
People may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building,
Someone could destroy overnight;
Build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness,
They may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.

The good you do today,
People will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have,
And it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you've got anyway.

You see, in the final analysis,
It is between you and God;
It never was between you and them anyway.

My most perfect sanctuary

is found in a secret place...within;
where love lives wonderfully together
with my accomplishments
and my defeats.
I am content with myself,
and secure in the knowledge
that life will be good to me.
I am aware that I am less than
some people would prefer me to be.
I may fall short of many
outreaching goals,
but I am great in this:
I have for so many things
in life an inner love.
I have a certain something
that makes me complete.
I have a belief in myself.
I have a belief in the
wonder of people.
I have a belief in
the sanctity of love.

I believe that life is for living..
for rising in the morning with
a smile on my face
from the simple joy of being me
and being alive.
I believe that my success in this
day will depend on my outlook,
my openness and my optimism.
I believe that this day offers
possibilities to change
for the better,
and opportunities
to reach for the best.
I believe that real happiness
is all around me, and that
it is as near as the
voice of my friend,
the whisper of my love,
and the thought of my family.
I believe that eyes
are made for beholding,
arms are made for unfolding,
and hearts are meant to say...
That for all its wrongs
and worries,
my life is right for me,
and thanks to my efforts,
it will only get better...
this I truly believe.

Your Picture

Long before we met,

the picture of the one I would love

began to take shape in my imagination.

Then one day I met you.

I knew you from the picture

Night Fall

By Lil Hawkette

The night calls my name.

Everytime the moon comes into the sky

You beckon me

I am always waiting for you

When the midnight hour strikes we begin

Our love for each other shines like the brightest star

We both hate for it to end and can't wait for it to begin

The only thing we know for sure is the power of our love

We know that one day we will be together.......forever
