Delta Pi
Projects for 1999-2000
Race for the Cure
Between 15 and 20 members of Delta Pi registered to participate in the 1999 Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure held in October at NorthPark Center in Dallas. Several members who could not actually run or walk in the event made a donation to help the cause. This is an annual project for both Delta Pi and the Dallas County combined chapters.
Books for RISD
Delta Pi will work with other organizations to collect new books to be given to first and second grade "at-risk" students in Richardson ISD. An on-going project, this gives disadvantaged children a couple of books "for their very own"!

Christmas Tea Project
Every year chapter members bring a gift to the Christmas tea that benefits children in some worthwhile project. Past choices have been Network of Community Ministries, RISD, and a refuge for abused women and children.
Collections for Network and Dallas' Women's Shelter
This is another on-going project which collects gently used clothing and household goods for the Dallas Shelter, and clothing and food for the Network.
School / Delta Pi Partnership
Several of our members teach in at-risk areas in the Dallas community. We ask these members to ascertain specific needs of the classes in their schools and help us address them.
