Welcome to Art's Emmy Central, your reliable guide to the major races of the 50th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, which will be held on Sunday, September 13th, 1998 at the Shrine Auditorium. Here at Emmy Central, I present a breakdown of the 11 major races in the Comedy, Drama, and Variety genres. This is Emmy's golden anniversary, so if all of my predicitons are actually on target, this year will play host to two unique, once in a lifetime milestones. Each category has its own page, which contains my analysis of each nominee, my projected odds of that nominee coming away victorious, and my personal pick, which is denoted with a yellow star. Last year, my picks were more than slightly off the mark, but then again, so were those of the network executives. For example, somebody at CBS thought that Tom Selleck's show would actually succeed!
