Our Lady Peace

The Windsor Star, November 6, 1997

Our Lady Peace, from left: Jeremy Taggart, Raine Maida, Duncan Coutts and Mike Turner. The hard but emotive band, characterized by the wildly ranging and somewhat whiney vocals of Maida, continue their surge to the top by opening for Everclear tonight at 8 p.m. at a sold-out show at St. Andrew's Hall in Detroit. The Toronto band has already opened for rock legends Robert Plant and Jimmy Page. Our Lady Peace's second album Clumsy has so far sold more than 100,000 copies while their first effort, Naveed has sold more than 800,000 worldwide. These are the lads, by the way, who beat home-town heroes The Tea Party at the recent MuchMusic Video Awards by earning favorite group and favorite video (for Superman's Dead).
