Biography

Réal Andrews (pronounced Ray-al) was born on January 31, 1963 in North Vancouver, British Columbia in Canada. In Canada, Réal was the 13th fastest runner in the 100 meter dash. Réal had to give up his Olympic dreams because of a hamstring injury. Réal then went into the acting business and portrayed various characters in Canada before coming to Hollywood.

Réal's hobbies are working on his house, going to swap meets, fishing, collecting old cars, and martial arts.

His role models are Malcolm X, Martin Luther King Jr., Bruce Lee, Abraham Lincoln, and his parents.

Réal have several pets. He has two dogs whose names are Chance and Taggert, two lizards whose names are Desi and Lucy (They are named after a character (Desi Arnez) that former General Hospital castmate, Maurice Bernard portayed in a made for TV movie. ), five goats, and two birds whose names are Isabelle and Pauley.

Most fans may recognize Réal from the hit ABC daytime drama, General Hospital where he portrays the not so good cop, Detective Marcus Taggert. Réal made his General Hosptial debut on December 17, 1996.
