Working Overtime

Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis) finally has a moment to catch her breath now that she's no longer doing both GH and Melrose Place. But you'll never hear her complain about too much work. "That situation is what you always wish for," she says. "Everyone at both shows really went out of their way to make it work. The hours are different at Melrose Place. You have to be in your makeup chair at 5:30 a.m., but it was fun because I knew I didn't have to do it forever." Grahn can't say which show was more challenging. "You have more lines to memorize in (daytime) soaps, but it's less tedious. Working on film, you kind of lose your momentum, because it's taped in pieces with master shots and closeups."
