Everybody in the village starts to worry when two mysterious
men turn up. It is thought that they are from the `Revenue'
and it seems that everybody has something to hide. Assumpta
has more important things on her mind. The ceiling of the
pub has just fallen in due to an exploded water tank and
she is worried about paying for it. She feels as if
everything is falling in around her and she decides it's
time for a change. An old friend has contacted her, asking
if she'll come in with her in a wine bar in Dublin. Assumpta
is tempted and confides in Niamh. Peter hears about it on
the grapevine - it seems as if he is the last to know. He
asks Niamh, who is giving very little away - only that
Assumpta wants a life and family of her own. He says that
there are different kinds of love. He confronts Assumpta.
When she tells him that it's her business, he tells her
that he cares about her - the nearest he can come to telling
her that he loves her. She is upset and promises to let him
know what she decides. The mystery of the two men is solved,
they are from the Fraud Squad so everyone relaxes. Niamh
announces that she is pregnant again and a party is thrown
at Fitzgerald's. Peter has a last attempt at talking
Assumpta out of leaving. She says that she won't find what
she's looking for in Ballykay, but Peter tells her that she
can find it anywhere.
