Well, this episode never really stood a chance, my head was so full of what was going to happen next week that I couldn't really concentrate. Just as well really, 'cos it wasn't a great episode (never thought I'd say that!). it's just that there's such a build up to next week that this one fell a bit flat. Terrific trailer afterwards though. I'll tell more about that later, but here's the summary for this episode first.

Assumpta comes back from seeing Leo in Dublin. Niamh is disappointed that Leo didn't come back with her. When she asks why, Assumpta tells her that it could never have worked out with Leo. Niamh is upset for her, but she doesn't push it (one gets the feeling that Niamh is at last beginning to understand how Assumpta feels). Niamh then tells Assumpta that Peter has gone back to Manchester. Assumpta jumps the gun and presumes that he has gone for good. She is relieved but very upset when she dicovers that he has actually gone to visit his mother who is dying.

Brian is back in business with a new venture - paintball weekends for bored and under-motivated executives (anyone who remembers the notorious paintball episode of Drop the Dead Donkey is permitted to have a little chuckle at this point - I did!) He causes much unrest amongst the locals who object to having the village overrun with eejits! They rally round and put going under his business partner's plans to expand the operation. Of course, it doesn't help matters when one of the guys gets a bullet in the 'arris from Eamonn's shotgun! Well, he was trespassing on his land!

Brendan and Siobhan reach some sort of understanding about their relationship and the baby, though not until there have been some rows over Brendan overstepping the mark and interfering in Siobhan's business. She in turn, has had to give up looking after Eamonn's sick sheep because of the risk to the baby. She is therefore forced into telling eveyone that she nad Brendan are pregnant.

Michael tells everyone that Peter's mother has died. Assumpta is upset, but Michael gives her Peter's number and tells her to call him - he knows she's back and wants to hear from her.

Now, I would tell you to stop reading here if you don't want to know about next week's episode, but as you would have seen the trailer straight after BallyK anyway, there's not much point!
There are some really terrific clips here! Peter and Assumpta walking by the River Angel, a bit of nuzzling (as it was phrased by one of my Australian friends!) and a fair few confessions. It'll be a hard episode to watch, but there will, at least be some nice bits to remember.
