(Danny and Michelle are in their bedroom. Danny is holding Michelle’s suitcase as she is getting ready to go to Rick’s).

 Danny: I’ll drive you over to your brother’s…so…I’ll just…I’ll just go get the car pulled around.

 Michelle: Danny, I’m just going to get a cab.

 Danny: No…I’m your husband…I have to take care of you. God Michelle…I..I wish none of this had happened.

 Michelle: Danny…I’m going to be okay…I’m going to be at my brother’s…just until my eyes get better.

 Danny: (barely audible) Yeah…okay.

 (Danny leaves the room with Michelle’s suitcase in hand. In the hallway he sits down in a chair contemplating what has happened and what will happen. Carmen comes out of her room and sees him in the hallway.)

 Carmen: Daniel…. I’m sorry that Michelle’s lies have made you suffer this way…Can you do this? Can you protect this family.

 Danny: I’ll do what I have to do…Mother.

 (Danny leaves and Carmen turns and walks toward Danny and Michelle’s bedroom. Michelle is coming out and they meet in the hallway.)

 Michelle: I was just leaving.

 Carmen: I know. I just thought we’d…I’d come by and have a chat…

 (Carmen walks into Danny and Michelle’s bedroom. Michelle follows her.)

Carmen: I think there should be some peace between us, Michelle.

Michelle: Really?

Carmen: I feel like it’s my fault that your leaving.

Michelle: Well..I’ll only be at my brother’s for a few days…just until my eyesight gets better.

Carmen: Ah…Yes…Your eyesight…It must have been terrifying for you.

Michelle: Yes…yes it was.

Carmen: Are you feeling better, now.

Michelle: Yes, I am..It gets better and worse..comes and goes…that’s why I’m going to stay with my brother.

Carmen: It’s fortunate that you weren’t driving when your eyesight got bad. You might have met up with a terrible accident.

Michelle: (sarcastically almost under her breath) Huh…yeah that would have really broken your heart.

Carmen: (not hearing clearly) Excuse me?

Michelle: Why are you here, Carmen? You don’t like me…You don’t want me in your house…You don’t want me with your son…Why did you come here?

Carmen: I don’t see the point of keep up this animosity…Life is too short!

(Danny is walking down the hallway to get Michelle. He pauses for a moment overhearing Dietz in the hallway on the telephone.)

Dietz: Everything went great, sweetheart. I told Carmen that you had come through for her…and you came through Big Time. I mean, pretending to be Danny’s wife when you called the FEDS…It worked Great and it took care of everything…and now…I’m in Big Time with the Boss.

Michelle: I’ll bite… What inspired this sudden change especially since you are trying to convince your son that I’m an informant for the FBI?.

Carmen: Did my son tell you this?

Michelle: We just had a long conversation about it, actually.

Carmen: I wish Daniel had mentioned it to me.

Michelle: I wish you hadn’t lied to him about me…but apparently this is the way it is.

Carmen: I was concerned for my son, I was speaking in anger.

Michelle: (sarcastically) Ohhh…that’s makes it okay.

Carmen: Look…obviously you’re not going to believe anything that I say… but I’m going to say it anyway. I do hope for my son’s sake that you two begin to get along…try to understand each other.

Michelle: I’m Danny’s wife. Maybe there’s a few thing about him…that I understand better than you do.

Carmen: Is that so…I doubt it.

 Danny: Hey…don’t

 Michelle: What?

 Danny: (to Carmen) I should have known you would be here.

 Carmen: I was just leaving.

 Danny: That’s alright…don’t leave…Mother…don’t leave. (to Michelle) Michelle, can you … can you excuse us for a minute…I’d like to talk with my Mother…(Michelle responds with "Um-huh") Thanks.

 Carmen: What’s this all about, Daniel? (Carmen begins to stroke Danny’s face-Danny pushes her hand aside)

 Danny: (very angry) What kind of monster are you? You SET me up to betra….to KILL my own WIFE?

 Carmen exhales.

 (Carmen and Danny in Manny’s bedroom)

 Danny: I just overheard Dietz talking on the phone with his girlfriend, Mother…He was THANKING her for a job well done for the boss. How could you do this to me..How?…I have been going through hell…I have been trying to SHUT down all of my feelings for Michelle…and EVERY BIT of HUMANITY so that I could do what’s best for this Family and get rid of her.

 Carmen: Even though I made that call, you don’t know she didn’t frame you.

 Danny: You LIED to me…you went behind MY BACK.

 Carmen: OHH…you’re missing the POINT.

 Danny: YOU…YOU SET ME UP…You manipulated this WHOLE thing from the beginning.

 Carmen: Daniel… I know… I know in my heart that this girl is lying….one after the other….to you and our entire family.

 Danny: Its YOU…YOU…who could NEVER be TRUSTED…That’s why it’s Never going to happen again.

 (Michelle enters the bedroom having heard loud voices)

 Michelle: What’s wrong…Is everything ok?

 Danny: (to Michelle) Its fine…its fine…my Mother was just leaving…(to Carmen) weren’t you?…Goodbye….Mother.

 (Carmen exits)

 Danny grabs Michelle and holds her.

Danny: I am…I am so sorry…I am so sorry.

 (Danny and Michelle in the bedroom. Danny has a suitcase in his hand and Michelle looks confused.)

 Michelle: Danny…Danny…. Will you please tell me what’s going on… what happened with your Mother… Why are you acting like this…What…

 Danny: I was an idiot…That’s all…It’s okay because things are going to be very different around here.

 (Danny is hastily getting clothes out of a drawer)

 Michelle: Okay…What are you doing?

 Danny: What am I doing?….I’m packing…I’m just … I’ll just throw…I won’t be long…I’m going to take a couple of things…

 Michelle: You’re packing for what? Where are you going?

 Danny: With you.

 Michelle: Excuse me?

 Danny: Yeahhh.. I’m not going to leave you alone…at your brother’s…No way…(Danny holding her face in his hands) Michelle, I’m your husband…and I want to be there for you…I do…The same way that you’d be there for me…(He kisses her).
