Yet again they return!

We yet again receive our weekly Mel and Sue dose.

Wednesday 13th January 1999

HAPPY NEW YEAR! Back to our telly screens, Mel and Sue give us our weekly hit of topical comedy. Mel's hair has changed once again, now a floppy thing. Lorraine Kelly of GMTV fame comes and cooks for Michelle Collins and Davina McCall. They bang on the table quite frequently for some unknown reason. It also appears that Davina and Mel have something in common, they both once dropped their mike packs down the loo! Charmin!

Wednesday 20th January 1999

A ruddy good show tonight! We see Sue has had an image change, as she suddenly has lost the specs and her hair has gone from purple to ginger. Laaaaaaavly! Rick Stien cooks up a squid for tea and lady in pink causes great embarrasment for Sue in the audience section (but it means she can pull that wonderful "I'm a divot" face she does so well!). Guests today are Hale and Pace, who discuss the pros and cons of being a double act with Mel and Sue. We are also told a lovely anacdote by Sue, of when Mel and herself went to do a film at a health farm, and saw each other in the nuddy. Released on Swedish Channel 9 sometime in the Millennium.

Wednesday 27th January 1999

On tonight's show we have Alan Titshmarsh cooking a fish. Yes indeed! Also we have some Brookie gals on to eat it! Mel and Sue tell us a lovely (4 hour) rhyme about these Brookiettes, and many a *sexual* innuendo is chucked about willy-nilly in the kitchen. Also, Mellie is a poorly gally today with a touch of the flu, and this throws Sue somewhat. Well, that's what she said anyway.

Wednesday 3rd February 1999

Ladies and Gents, tonight we have Meera Syal of Goodness Gracious Me fame, who has come to do the cooking. Mel reveals to her the worrying fact that Mel and Sue's tour has not yet been written. Coming on the show to eat said food are sisters Julia and Nadia Sawhala (pronounce it as you will), who cannot stop giggling. Jilly Goolden comes on and tastes three revolting choccie drinks, and that's about it, really!

Wednesday February 10th 1999

What a show! Tonight we are graced with Corrie's Hayley Petterson, who cooks some stuff, Sue gets MAJORLY confused about various things thanks to Mel, and they all eat with Rory McGrath, Gary Lineker and Nick Hancock. Much foolery goes on at the table, most of it involving taking the mick out of Gary. Let's hope they put it back afterwards.

Wedsnesday February 17th 1999

Steps come on today, and show their multi-talents by doing cookinjg, eating AND singing! But not all at once. Mel embarreses herself by letting out a rather large belch at the table. Nothing new there then. Also, Mel and Sue look very similar in their clothes tonight. Strange.

Wednesday February 24th 1999

An ace show today, as we have Trisha the chat show queen come on and cook us some grub, and Jennifer Ehle and Alison Steadman at eat it! Poor Susie has a spot of bother in the kitchen with an over zealous audience member who does not take an immediate shine to Trisha, but she handles it very well! The grub is thorughly enjoyed by all. LAST SHOW EVER NEXT WEEK! Get the tissues handy, lads!

Wednesday March 3rd 1999 - Last EVER Late Lunch

Well, what can I say! This was undoubtably the BEST show ever! We had the Di Marco brothers come and cook some grub, and Ainsley Harriot and some comic come eat it, but that's not what we were really interested in tonight, no no. All we wanted to know abvout was Mel and Sue, and our last chance to se them in their natural habitat. Their thesis on the "I've snogged Ross Burden....." "......and I've snogged Ross Burden, which kinda means we've.....let's not even go there!" was very comic. Sue's plea to Mel from the audience section was moving. But what about the selection of clips at the end, eh! "Hello, I'm Mel Giedroyc" "Which means I must be Sue Perkins, every inch of me" "And welcome to this, the first ever Light Lunch!" FAREWELL, my friend. We will miss you, oh yes.
