What if tale . . . This is a “What if tale,” which means it changes a normal plot point of the show to something else to suit a need for the story. Something that was in the past . . . like what if this had happened. This is “What if” Judd was never thought to have been killed in the hospital fire and was instead raised on the farm along with Bo, Luke
Jesse looked out at the farmyard and sighed. He had
wished that the boys would all get along but they never did. Luke and Judd
were brothers and always let Bo know that since he was only a cousin he
wasn’t part of their little group. Bo was the youngest and always wanted
to hang around with his older cousins. They rarely let him and most the
time picked on him, especially Judd. Jesse had told them to be nice to
Bo, but he knew he couldn’t force them to Bo’s friend. Luke was the oldest
and usually obeyed Jesse’s orders to be nice to Bo, at least while Jesse
was looking. Luke was fourteen, Judd was thirteen, and Bo was nine. Luke
and Judd were playing some game over by the barn. Bo was sitting on the
swing, that Jesse had made and tied to a thick branch on the tree in front
of the house, watching his cousins play. Bo’s eyes seemed sad and longed
to be accepted into his cousin’s little “group.” Jesse felt bad for Bo,
who had no real friends of his own. He spent most his days sitting alone
and being lost in his own little world. Jesse noticed that Luke was a lot
kinder to Bo if Judd wasn’t around, and had caught himself wondering if
Bo and Luke would be close friends if Judd wasn’t around. Jesse found that
Judd was hard to control he was very possessive and had a very nasty temper.
His temper was shorter then Bo’s even. Bo at least controlled his temper
and had a soft and caring side. Jesse had a hard time getting Judd to listen
to him. Jesse noticed Bo was no longer watching his cousin and was staring
at the ground and was swinging back and forth very slowly, dragging his
feet in the dirt.
Judd tossed a baseball from hand to hand and smiled, as he looked across
the yard at Bo.
“Think I can hit him from here?” Judd asked.
Luke sighed. “Don’t do that, you’ll only get in trouble.”
“Oh c’mon he is a little pest. He is always following
us and getting us in trouble because we don’t play with him.” Judd said.
“Yeah but, it don’t mean you have to hurt him.”
Luke said.
Judd frowned. “C’mon brother. Want to take a bet if I can hit him?
Loser does the dishes tonight.”
Luke thought about I for a moment and then nodded. He thought Judd
was right Bo was always following them and getting them into trouble with
Jesse.
Judd aimed the ball and threw it at Bo. The ball
hit Bo in the arm, and he gave a shocked cry of pain. Jesse rushed towards
Bo, who was sitting on the swing crying in pain holding his injured arm
tightly. Jesse turned to look at Judd and Luke. Judd was standing there
laughing about it, though he didn’t see what had happened he knew that
Judd was responsible.
“You two get to your room NOW!” Jesse yelled sternly
at them.
Judd and Luke said nothing and went into the room they shared. Bo had
his own room, as Jesse was afraid to have him in the same room as Luke
and Judd. He knew it would be too easy for Judd and Luke to be nasty to
him at night.
Jesse bent down in front of Bo. Bo looked at him with watery eyes.
“It really hurts.” Bo said.
“Let me see.” Jesse said softly.
Bo showed Jesse his arm, which had already started to bruise and become
swollen.
“C’mon inside and we’ll get some ice on that.” Jesse
said.
Bo nodded slightly and followed his uncle inside. Bo sat on the couch
holding the ice pack on his injured arm, while Jesse went to discipline
Luke and Judd.
Luke and Judd were sitting on their beds. Judd was
still laughing about having hit Bo with the ball and that Luke would have
to do the dishes. Jesse walked into the room, and Judd stopped laughing.
Jesse shut the door and looked sternly at Luke and Judd.
“Just what do you think you were doing?” Jesse asked.
“You could’ve really hurt Bo throwing that ball at him like that.”
“It was just a bet to see if I could hit him from
that far off. Luke lost he does the dishes tonight.” Judd said.
“You both will do the dishes tonight and the next
two weeks, the same time you are ground for.” Jesse said.
“That is not fair.” Judd said.
“Do you want to make it three weeks?” Jesse asked.
Luke shook his head. “No sir. Sorry.”
Jesse looked at Luke. Even though Judd was younger he always seemed
to be able to talk Luke into doing anything. If Judd wasn’t around Luke
was a better person, and seemed to have a lot more love for his family,
his entire family. He looked at Judd.
“Do you want to be grounded for three weeks?” Jesse
asked.
Judd shook his head. “No I don’t.”
“Then it is two weeks.” Jesse said, and turned and
left the room.
Jesse sat down on he couch next to Bo. He saw that Bo’s deep blue eyes
were filled with tears, but he was refusing to cry.
“How is your arm?” Jesse asked, carefully lifting
the ice off Bo’s arm.
“It still really hurts.” Bo said.
Jesse nodded in understanding he saw the swelling had gone down but
his arm was still quite bruised.
“Well nothing is broken.” Jesse said.
Bo didn’t say anything, he knew his cousin would never truly accept
him, especially Judd, Luke was kind on the rare occasion but Bo started
to wonder if that was just because Jesse made him.
“Do you want some ice cream?” Jesse asked,
pulling Bo out of his thoughts.
Bo nodded. “Yes, please.”
Judd sat on his bed still fuming about being
grounded, and having to do the dishes even though he had won the bet.
“It ain’t fair. Bo is always getting us into
trouble.” Judd said.
“He didn’t do anything, you threw the ball
at him.” Luke said.
“Yeah so?” Judd asked.
“You have nothing to blame him for.” Luke
said.
“You went along with the bet.” Judd argued.
“Yeah I did, and you don’t hear me whining
about being grounded.” Luke said.
“It still ain’t fair. Uncle Jesse treats Bo
better then he does us.” Judd said.
“That ain’t true.” Luke said.
“He never yells at Bo.” Judd said.
“Maybe that is because Bo doesn’t do anything
wrong.” Luke said.
Judd frowned. “I am really gonna get that brat one of these days.”
“Just leave him be.” Luke said.
“What, are you taking his side?”
Luke shook his head. “You don’t want to get into even more trouble.”
“I don’t care.” Judd said.
Luke sighed, knowing there was no way to talk Judd out of this he just
prayed that Judd didn’t do anything to hurt Bo too badly. He didn’t hate
Bo, and got along with him when Judd wasn’t around. He knew that all Bo
really wanted was a friend, he knew it was hard for Bo to make friends
at school, whenever he managed to make a friend, Judd was right there to
be sure the friendship didn’t last. Luke wondered what Judd had against
Bo, but decided to just drop the subject.
The next couple weeks past slowly and Luke
found that Judd seemed to grow more angry with each day, though he hide
the anger from Jesse. Judd sat making plans at how to get back at Bo, to
which Luke said he wanted no part of, some of Judd’s plans could need up
with Bo getting hurt quite bad, if not killed. Even though he thought Bo
was annoying at times he didn’t want to see his younger cousin killed.
He thought if maybe when Judd planned on doing, whatever it was he decided
on, he should go along with him and perhaps be able to stop him.
After the punishment that Jesse had enforced
was over, Judd went fishing with one of his friends from school, Joey Segar.
Luke came out from the barn, after finishing his chores, and saw Bo sitting
under the shade of the large old elm tree, play with an old set of matchbox
cars. Luke approached him, and looked down at his younger cousin.
“What are you doin’?” Luke asked.
Bo looked up, his dark blue eyes shone with fear.
“Nothing.” Bo mumbled, grabbing his cars,
fearing Luke would wreck them.
“You got a lot of cars.” Luke said.
“They are mine, you can’t have ‘em.” Bo said.
“I never said I was going to take ‘em.” Luke
said, and sat down on the ground facing Bo. “Can I see the cars you have?”
“You just want me to show you them so you
can break ‘em.” Bo said, in a matter of fact tone.
Luke shook his head. “I promise I won’t break your cars.”
Bo looked sceptical, but then laid his cars down on the ground between
him and Luke.
“You got some really great cars.” Luke said.
Bo nodded and looked at his oldest cousin. “Why are you acting nice
to me? Did Uncle Jesse make you come over here?”
“No.” Luke said.
“Where’s Judd?” Bo asked, and Luke could hear
a hint of fear in his younger cousin’s voice.
“He’s at Joey’s.” Luke said.
“And since he ain’t around you have nothin’
better to do then bug me, is that it?” Bo asked, even though Luke wasn’t
bothering him at all.
Luke shook his head. “I just came over to see what you were doin’”
“Since when have you cared?” Bo asked.
Luke shrugged. “I never said that I didn’t care.”
“Could’ve fooled me.”
“Well I do.” Luke said. “I’ll leave you alone
now if you want.”
Luke stood up, and was about to step away.
“Please don’t go.” Bo said softly.
Luke nodded and sat down again.
“So you like cars?” Luke asked, conversationally.
“Yeah, I’m gonna own the fastest car in all
of Hazzard some day, and I can race it and make a lot of money then I can
move away and you guys don’t have to worry about me being around.” Bo said.
Luke sighed, he realised how badly he how treated Bo over the years,
especially if his younger cousin thought that way. “Well I hope you do
own the fastest car some day. I am sure you’ll be a great driver.”
“Do you really think so?” Bo asked.
“Yeah, I do.”
“Thanks, Luke.” Bo said with a wide smile,
his blue eyes sparkled, he felt like at least for a few moments he had
a real friend. “Do you like cars to?”
“Yeah. I want to build one some day, even
though Judd says cars are dumb.” Luke said.
“What does he know anyways.” Bo said, matter-of-factly.
Luke laughed. “Not much. Maybe I can build the car you’d race.”
“That’d be nice, but I know it won’t happen.”
Bo said, turning sad all of a sudden.
“How do you know, it could.”
Bo shook his head. “No it couldn’t ‘cause we are “ONLY” cousin nothing
less especially not friends so you wouldn’t want to build or even help
me build a car. And you only talk nice to me when Judd ain’t around, soon
as he came around you guys would sabotage the car to make me crash.”
“I would NEVER do that.” Luke said.
“Promise?”
“Yeah I promise. I promise I ain’t ever gonna
allow anything to happen to you.” Luke said sincerely.
Bo smiled widely, and his look of happiness returned. “Thanks, Luke.”
They talked about cars for few minutes. Bo looked at his oldest cousin,
he had always liked Luke he thought Luke was cool and had silently looked
up to him.
“Are we friends now?” Bo asked.
“What?”
“Are we friends or you gonna start being mean
to me to again as soon as Judd comes home?” Bo asked.
Luke looked at Bo for a moment, he could see the longing for friendship
in Bo’s dark blue eyes, he fully intended to keep the promise he made Bo,
he realised how much they had in common. “We are friends.”
“YEEHAW!” Bo hollered loudly.
Luke just smiled and laughed at Bo’s enthusiasm.
Jesse heard Bo holler and came out to see
what was going on, he walked over to Bo and Luke.
“What’s going on here?” Jesse asked.
Bo looked up at his uncle, smiling widely. “Luke and me is friends
now.”
“Really?” Jesse asked, sceptical.
“Yes, sir.” Luke said, looking at his uncle.
“Well ain’t nice.” Jesse said. “Could you
help me with lunch, Luke?”
Luke nodded and stood up, and sat and played happily with his cars,
a great joy seemed to have filled him as he thought about how he finally
had a real friend, and he was glad that friend was Luke.
Once in the house Jesse told Luke to sit on
one of the chairs, and Luke obeyed.
“Now, tell me just what you are up to?”
“What do you mean?” Luke asked.
“I some how doubt that all of a sudden you
are going to start being nice to Bo, even though I would like to think
it is true.” Jesse said.
“It is true.” Luke said.
“Why do I doubt that?”
“But it is. Look I know I haven’t always been
nice to Bo, and I am sorry for that. I never really meant to really hurt
him. I do care about him. I guess lately I have started to see how much
I have hurt Bo, and I ain’t gonna be that way no more, no matter what Judd
says.” Luke said.
“Are you serious?” Jesse asked, praying that
Luke actually was gonna start being nice to Bo and be his friend.
“Yes I am.” Luke said.
“I pray that you ain’t lying. Bo is thrilled that
you are willing to be his friend and I don’t want to see him getting hurt
once again by you.” Jesse said.
“I swear to you that I won’t ever intentionally
hurt Bo again, nor will I allow him to be hurt, by ANYONE.” Luke said,
speaking with such convection that Jesse believed him.
“Okay, go back outside and play, I’ll call you boys
in when lunch is ready.”
Judd arrived home shortly before dinner and was
angry when he saw his brother acting nice to Bo. All throughout dinner
Judd kept shooting angry glances at Luke and Bo, but they both ignored
him. That night, after everyone went to bed, Judd decided it was time to
talk to Luke.
“What are you doing being nice to that little dork?”
Judd asked.
“Don’t talk that way about Bo.” Luke said.
“Why not, it’s the truth.” Judd said.
“No it ain’t. Maybe if you’d be a little nicer you’d
see that. There ain’t no reason that we can’t all be friends.” Luke said.
“Yeah there is.” Judd said.
“And what is the reason?”
“I hate him.” Judd said.
“Why do you hate him? You have no reason to hate
Bo.”
“I don’t care if I have reason or not I still hate
him.” Judd said, then thought to himself, ‘tomorrow I will get rid of him
once and for all.’
The next morning Luke was doing his chores
in the barn, while Bo was outside feeding the chickens. Judd had taken
off and Jesse had gone looking for him. Luke was just stepping out of the
barn when he saw Judd’s dirt bike come speeding into the yard, heading
straight for Bo.
“BO! LOOK OUT!” Luke yelled.
Bo looked up and saw the bike, panic grabbed at him, and his legs felt
rooted in place. Judd rode up alongside Bo and grabbed the young boy around
the waist, and began to drag him along.
“LUKE! HELP!” BO screamed, trusting that Luke
actually would come to his rescue.
Luke grabbed his own dirt bike and sped after Judd’s bike.
As they sped down the dirt path, Luke could
see Bo struggling to escape, his feet occasionally being drug along the
road, and the wind carried Bo’s screams to his ears. Luke was in shock
that Judd could do something so cruel, and he vowed to save Bo from Judd’s
wrath at any cost. He didn’t care if Judd never spoke to him again he only
cared about Bo’s safety, remembering the promise he had made. Judd
sped up the cliffs, and tossed Bo away, before even stopping. Bo’s body
rolled limply across the ground, stopping close to the edge of the cliff.
“BO!” Luke screamed and jumped off his bike,
as he slowed down, rushing over to his younger cousin.
Bo tried to get up, wanting to run over to his cousin, seeking protection
from his insane cousin, Judd. However when he tried to stand it sent waves
of pain through his legs and he cried in pain and collapse. Judd stalked
towards Bo.
“Leave him alone, Judd.” Luke said.
“Not a chance. I want to be rid of him once
and for all.” Judd said. “You should be on my side brother.”
“Well I ain’t, Judd. And I ain’t gonna allow
you to hurt Bo.” Luke said.
Judd reached Bo before Luke and pulled the young boy roughly to his
feet. Bo cried in pain as he was forced to stand, his legs buckling under
his weight.
“Leave him alone, Judd.” Luke said, slowly
advancing on them.
“Hold it right there, Luke. If you take another
step I swear I’ll toss Bo over the edge.”
“Judd . . . you can’t be serious. Please just
leave Bo alone.” Luke said.
“Luke . . . please . . . help me.” Bo cried,
his voice trembling from the pain.
“It’ll be okay, Bo, I promise.” Luke said,
praying he was right and that he could save Bo.
Judd shoved Bo to the ground, he landed closer to the edge of the cliffs
then he had been before, mere inches between him and the five hundred foot
vertical drop straight down. Luke lunged at Judd and tackled him away from
Bo.
“How can you take his side over the side of
your own brother?” Judd asked.
“How can you be so cruel as to endanger his
life? He has never done anything to you.”
“He is an annoying little brat.” Judd said.
“You are the one acting like a little brat.”
Luke said.
The sound of a terrified scream pierced through the air, and Luke looked
over just in time to see that Bo had been trying to stand and the edge
of the cliff had given way.
“BO!” Luke yelled rushing over to the edge
of the cliff, praying by some miracle Bo hadn’t fallen to his death.
Soon as Luke turned his back on Judd, Judd took off on his dirt bike.
He cautiously looked over the edge, his heart beating wildly in his chest,
pounding loudly in his ears. He saw his younger cousin clinging to a small
rocky ledge several feet down.
“Help me.” Bo begged tears of fear streaking
his cheeks.
Luke dropped to the ground and reached his hand down to Bo.
“Take my hand.” Luke said.
“I’m too scared to move.” Bo said.
Luke reached as far as he could, he could only manage to reach far
enough for his fingers to lightly brush against Bo’s hand.
“Bo, you have to take my hand, I can’t reach
you.” Luke said.
“I’m scared.” Bo said, his voice trembling.
“Don’t be, I promise not to let you fall.”
Luke said.
Bo cautiously let go of the edge with one hand, feeling like he was
going to fall, and he extended his hand up to Luke. Luke quickly reached
and latched his hand tightly around Bo’s wrist, and Bo copied his action.
Luke slowly began to lift Bo up, grateful that his younger cousin was so
light. When Bo was closer to the top of the cliff Luke took Bo’s other
hand and hauled him up the rest of the way, pulling him away from the edge.
“Are you okay?” Luke asked, with genuine concern.
Bo only began to sob in response.
“Shh, you’ll be okay, Bo.” Luke said, and
pulled Bo into a comforting, brotherly hug.
It took a few moments before Bo stopped crying he sat back and wiped
the tears from his face.
“Are you okay?” Luke asked, once again.
“My legs hurt.” Bo said.
Luke just nodded, in a sympathetic, understanding way. “Let’s go home.
Well can tell Uncle Jesse what happened and get you to a doctor.”
With Luke’s help Bo managed to stand, and leaning most his weight on
his older cousin, hobbled over to Luke’s bike. Bo gritted his teeth against
the pain in his legs, and Luke helped him onto the back of the bike. Luke
climbed on himself and started the bike, then sped off towards home.
When they arrived back they saw Judd’s bike
was sitting under the elm tree. Luke helped Bo off the bike and into the
house. They found Jesse and Judd sitting in the front room. Jesse looked
at Luke with angry eyes. Luke ignored the angry looked and helped Bo to
sit down.
“Just what are you trying to pull, Luke?”
Jesse asked.
“What are you talking about?” Luke asked.
“Judd told me what you have been up to.”
“I don’t know what he told you but it is no
doubt a lie.” Luke said.
“I don’t lie.” Judd said.
“Yeah you just try to commit murder.” Luke
said.
“Luke, that is quite enough. Judd told me
what to did to Bo.” Jesse said. “How could you?”
“I didn’t DO anything.” Luke protested.
“Yes you did, I should take the switch to
you.” Jesse said angrily, nearly yelling.
“STOP YELLING AT LUKE! HE DIDN’T DO NOTHING!”
Bo yelled.
Jesse looked at Bo with a startled expression. “Bo, you don’t have
to be afraid of Luke, I know he probably threatened you . . .”
“NO! He didn’t.” Bo said interrupting Jesse’s
sentence. “Luke saved my life.”
“Can we argue about this later, and just take
Bo to see the Doc right now?” Luke asked.
Jesse nodded.
Luke helped Bo up and out to the truck, and sat between Bo and Judd.
They reached the doctor’s office in town, fifteen minutes later. Jesse
took Bo into the backroom, for Doc Appleby too look at his injures. Luke
spun around to face Judd, his pale blue eyes flashing with anger.
“How dare you try to tell Uncle Jesse that
I was the one who hurt Bo.”
Judd just shrugged. “He was sure quick to believe it.”
“It don’t make it the truth.” Luke said. “I
ain’t about to just let you get away with hurting Bo.”
“Oh, I am so scared, brother. What are you
beat me up?”
“For starters.” Luke said menacingly.
“And that’ll make Uncle Jesse believe you
didn’t hurt Bo when you hurt me?”
“I don’t care what he believes. He can think
whatever he wants it don’t change the truth.”
Jesse heard them arguing, and went out to the waiting room.
“Would you two keep it down.” Jesse said in
a stern voice.
“He started it.” Judd complained.
“No, I didn’t it. He started it when he hurt
Bo. He TRIED to kill Bo.”
“No, YOU did.” Judd lied.
“This ain’t the time nor the place to discuss
this.” Jesse said. “Now, both of you just sit down and be quiet.”
“Yes, sir.” Luke said and sat down on one
of the chair.
“Yes, sir.” Judd said, and sat down.
Jesse sat down between them, and waited for word on Bo’s condition.
Thirty minutes Later the doctor came out pushing
Bo, in a wheelchair. Luke was the first to his feet and rushed over to
his younger cousin.
“Are you okay?” Luke asked.
Bo nodded. “I’m okay. Thanks for saving my life.”
“I promised you that I’d take care of ya,
didn’t I?”
“Yeah, but still thanks.” Bo said.
Luke nodded. “Anytime, little cousin.”
Jesse walked over, ushering Luke over to one side, though Luke didn’t
move away from Bo, he remained at his cousin’s side.
“How are you feeling, Bo?” Jesse asked.
“I’m fine.”
Doc Appleby looked at Jesse. “He just has to stay off his feet for
about three weeks, there don’t appear to be any permanent damage done.
But before he starts running around again bring him in for a check up.”
“Thanks, Doc.” Jesse said, and shook the doctor’s
hand. “Let’s go home boys.”
Jesse watched as Luke began to push the wheelchair outside, he could
tell from how Luke was acting that he couldn’t have had anything to do
with hurting Bo, which meant one thing, Judd was lying. Luke helped Bo
into the truck, and Jesse put the wheelchair in back. Bo sat between his
uncle and oldest cousin, sitting close to Luke, taking security and comfort
from his presence.
Once they got settled back at home, Jesse
had them all stay in the front room.
“Now, I want you boys to tell me the truth
about what happened today.” Jesse said.
“I already told you.” Judd said.
“I don’t know what you told but whatever it
was, was all a LIE.” Bo said.
Luke told Jesse about what had really happened that day.
“Is that the truth?” Jesse asked Bo.
“Yes, sir, it is the truth.” Bo said.
Jesse turned to face Judd. “Well, Judd?”
Judd’s eyes darkened with anger and he glared at Luke. “How dare you
protect that little brat over ME, your own BROTHER.”
“What you did was wrong. You have always been
wrong about Bo but I was too blinded by what you thought, because you are
my brother to see it.” Luke said.
“How dare you betray me.” Judd said angrily
and lunged towards Luke.
Luke anticipated Judd’s attack and tackled him to the ground, and they
began wrestling.
“BOYS!” Jesse said, in a loud stern voice.
Neither stopped fighting, and Jesse reached down to pull them apart.
“Enough.” Jesse said firmly.
Luke backed over, moving to stand next to Bo. Bo looked up at him.
“You okay?” Bo asked.
“Yeah.” Luke said.
Jesse held on to Judd, who continuously struggled to get away.
“Judd, did you try to kill Bo?” Jesse asked.
“Yes.” Judd admitted. “I planned on killing
if Luke hadn’t stopped me I would’ve.”
“There is no way I would EVER have let you
hurt Bo, let alone kill him.” Luke said.
Jesse sighed deeply, he know as long as Judd was around Bo would never
be safe. Jesse sat Judd down in one of the chairs, and went to the phone,
to call Rosco. It broke his heart to have to press attempted murder charges
against his own nephew but knew he had no choice. He went and sat down
on a chair, near Judd.
“Why send me away? Why not send B away, and
then we will all be happy.” Judd said.
“Hardly.” Luke said, placing a hand on Bo’s
shoulder, as if to assure his younger cousin of his friendship.
“What you did was wrong, Judd.” Jesse said.
“So what if it was wrong. I don’t care what
is right and what is wrong as long as it makes my life better.” Judd said.
Jesse sighed. “You are just like your mother was.”
“What do you mean?” Judd asked, and Luke listened
intently to hear why Jesse had said Judd was like their mother.
“She suffered from a mental disorder . . .
and it seems that you have the exact same problem, not caring what is right
or wrong, it is a serious problem.” Jesse said.
“Yeah so what if I don’t care what is right
and wrong.” Judd said.
“It is a serious problem, obviously since
you attempted to kill Bo.” Luke said.
“So you are saying I am psychotic and so was
my mother, well what about Luke?”
“Thankfully it appears that Luke is okay,
he is more like your father.” Jesse said.
“I never knew . . . she had a problem.” Luke
said.
“Nobody did when your father first married
her, but then it all came out, but he refused to leave her and it meant
his death.” Jesse said.
“She killed him?” Luke asked.
“No, she started the fire at the hospital
that killed thirty people, including both of them and almost killed Judd.”
Jesse said.
Judd seemed to care less about finding this out, but the news hit Luke
hard. He stumbled over to the couch and sat down. Bo wheeled the wheelchair
over to him.
“Are you okay?” Bo asked.
Luke nodded slightly. “I’ll be fine.”
“You sure?” Bo asked.
Luke looked at Bo, and saw the friendship that Bo had to offer, showing
in his dark blue eyes, and knew even though this news upset him with Bo’s
help he would get past it. He smiled at Bo. “Yeah, I’ll be just fine.”
Luke no more then uttered those words when
Rosco pulled to a stop in front of the house.
“You can’t send me away.” Judd said angrily.
“I am sorry, Judd. But I feel it is for the
best . . . best for everyone. Maybe you’ll get the help you need.” Jesse
said.
Rosco arrested Judd and after a short trial
Judd was found guilty of attempted murder. He was sentenced to a juvenile
detention facility until the day he turned eighteen. Three months before
his eighteenth birthday he killed his roommate. He was tried as an adult
and sentence to twenty-five year in the Atlanta state prison. During this
time Bo and Luke became inseparable best friends, growing to be more like
brothers then cousins.
