Shirley is excited about going while Laverne finds it insulting. Trivia Tid-bits: - The title for the show is "Laverne DeFazio & Shirley Feeney." - This is the first appearance of Henry Winkler guest starring as Fonzie from "Happy Days." - The episode marks the debut of Michael McKean and David L. Lander as Lenny & Squiggy. - As the same goes for L&S appearances on "Happy Days", Shirley has a strange accent in this episode (similar to Laverne's). For the rest of the series, Shirley has no such accent. - Shirley's message in Laverne's yearbook: "If heaven, we don't meet, Hand in hand, we'll bear the heat. And if it ever gets too hot, Pepsi-Cola hits the spot." - Shirley sings the song, "High Hopes" to keep her going. Think he'll move that rubber tree plant. Anyone knows, an ant, can't, Move a rubber tree plant. Cause he's got high hopes, He's got high hopes. He's got high apple pie, in the sky....hopes. So, anytime you're feeling low, instead of letting go. Just remember that ant, Whoops, there goes another rubber tree, whoops, there goes another rubber tree, whoops, there goes another rubber tree plant. Transcript The Society Party Transcript.
