"Moonrunners" and "The Dukes of Hazzard" were loosely based on the life of a man named Jerry Rushing. Jerry and his brother Johnny drove
moonshine in the 1950s while their Uncle Worley ran the still. A voluptuous girl cousin named Delane would hang around with the Rushing boys and listen to Uncle Worley's tales of harrowing chases
and narrow escapes. Jerry named his shine running car a black 1958 Chrysler after General Robert E. Lee's famed horse, Traveller. Jerry is the one that came up with the idea for Grady and Bobby Lee,
the two lead characters in "Moonrunners" to use bows and arrows instead of guns since they were on probation which was carried on to Bo and Luke in "The Dukes of Hazzard". Jerry was seen in the episode
"Repo Men" as used car salesman Ace Parker.
I had the pleasure of meeting John Schneider, Tom Wopat, and Sonny Shroyer on May 24, 1998 at Hershey Park. They are Good Ol' Boys in real life just like on TV. Also they gave a great concert. The Dukes Of Hazzard can be seen twice a day on The Nashville Network at 5PM and Midnight ET.
There isn't a 12:00 showing on Friday because of Motor Madness. Sometimes there is a 5PM showing on Sundays.
Welcome to my Dukes of Hazzard Site. The Dukes of Hazzard is my favorite show of all time. It originaly aired on CBS Friday nights
from January 26, 1979 to August 16, 1985 at 9PM and from 1982 on at 8PM. Even though the critics gave the show a less than warm reception when it premiered,
the public loved the show and it remained a top ten rated show for most of its seven seasons. The first five episodes of the series were filmed in Covington,
Georgia. Then Hazzard was moved to the set in the back lot of Warner Brothers Studios in Burbank, California.
I have been a Dukes Of Hazzard fan since I was in 5th grade so many years ago. The Dukes of Hazzard was good clean down-home fun.
It had fast cars such as the coolest car that ever graced the small screen The General Lee, great stunts and chases, and let's not forget beautiful women especially Sweet Daisy.
Creator Gy Waldron based the series on his 1975 movie "Moonrunners" where Waylon Jennings was first heard as "the Balladeer" just as he was on the series where he kept viewers up to par with
the story. The movie also featured Ben Jones (Cooter).

We grew up watching the General Lee jumping and loving sweet Daisy. At present time reruns are running on "Italy1" TV channel, even though we are both 25 and working we still never miss a show. Your site is "a myth" (i.e. very very very cool in Italian), thank you. Go on like this, you're great!
