Ned and Alexis pulled up into the driveway and ran into the house. "Lucky? Nikolas?" called Alexis. "Coming!" called Nikolas. Ned and Alexis sat down on the couch as Nikolas came down the stairs. "Nikolas, sit down." said Alexis. "What's wrong?" asked Nikolas as he sat down. "Luke..." Ned began. "Honey, I'm home!" interrupted Lucky. "Lucky, we're glad you're home. Please, sit down." said Ned. "What's going on?" asked Lucky suspciously. "We were about to tell Nikolas when you came in." said Alexis. "Please, continue." said Lucky sitting down. "Luke shot himself in the head." said Alexis gently. "NO!!!" shouted Lucky. "I'm sorry, Lucky." said Ned gently. "Your father wanted me to take care of you and your sister." said Alexis. "I don't need YOU to take care of me." said Lucky angrily. He got up and stormed out. "He'll be back. Why would Luke do this?" asked Nikolas. "He couldn't live without Laura." said Alexis. "I lived without my real mother for practically my whole life and you don't see me killing myself! I loved her and I miss her. I'm full of pain, but I'll go on with my life one step at a time. I knew he had no brains because he just left behind his son and little girl who will never know her parents!" said Nikolas angrily. Then he stormed out after Lucky. "That went well." said Ned. "I better go check on Lulu." said Alexis. She was about to get up when they heard little feet run down the stairs. "Hi, Alexis, what's all the noise?" asked Lulu. Then she looked at Ned. "I've seen you before. What's your name?" asked Lulu. "My name is Ned." he said smiling. "I have some bad news, sweetie." said Alexis. "What?" asked Lulu. "Well, sweetie, your daddy is in heaven with your mommy." said Alexis. "What? Did he die in an explosion too?" asked Lulu. "No, he got shot." said Alexis gently. Tears fell down her cheeks and Alexis knelt down to hug her. Her heart broke for this little girl who had no parents and that she would never know how wonderful they were. "Oh, honey, he'll always be with you along with your mommy." said Alexis as a few tears fell from her eyes. Ned watched them and thought of Brooke Lynn. "Where are my brothers?" asked Lulu. "They're out on a walk." said Alexis. "Who's going to take care of me?" asked Lulu. "Ned and I are going to take care of you." said Alexis. "Thank you uncle Ned and aunt Alexis." said Lulu. "You're welcome, sweetie, you're welcome." said Alexis hugging her.
Lucky and Nikolas sat on the porch. "You know I can't believe he'd do this to us." said Lucky. "I know what you mean." said Nikolas. "He left me and my sister in the care of your aunt. I mean I like your aunt, but I can take care of myself." said Lucky. "I understand, but just give her a chance." said Nikolas. Lucky let out a sigh of frustration. "Our sister loves her and your father wanted you two in the care of Alexis because Bobbie has enough to deal with." said Nikolas. "You're right. I better go apologize." said Lucky. "I think we both need to go apologize." said Nikolas. They got up and went inside.
The news had come on and the whole town was watching. "Good evening, I'm Phillip Wilson." he said. "And I'm Joanie Huse." she said. "And this is PC Update." they said together. "Tonight's top story is Luke Spencer who earlier tonight shot himself in the head." said Phillip. "I was live with detective Garcia and this is what he had to say." said Joanie. They showed the tape. "Why did he shoot himself?" asked Joanie. "He couldn't live without his wife, Laura Spencer." said Garcia. "She was one of the victims of the explosions?" asked Joanie. "Yes, and it hit him pretty hard." said Garcia. "Thank you for your time." said Joanie. They stopped the tape and went back to the two newscasters. "Luke Spencer is survived by his two children, his nephew, and his sister Barbara Spencer." said Joanie. "In other news tonight..." said Phillip.
Bobbie turned off the TV. "Bobbie, I'm sorry." said Monica. "Excuse me." said Bobbie. She went out into the hall and picked up the phone. She dialed Luke's number and it rang three times before someone picked up. "Hello?" said Alexis. "Alexis, is that you?" asked Bobbie. "Bobbie, hi." said Alexis. "What are you doing over there?" asked Bobbie. "I'm guardian of Lucky and Lulu, but mostly Lulu. Are you angry?" asked Alexis. "No, I understand. I didn't know you two were friends?" asked Bobbie. "Not really. Lucky can take care of himself so I'm not worried about him. Lulu will be fine." said Alexis. "I'm sure. Please, take good care of them. They are all I have left." said Bobbie. "I will. I'll see you tomorrow." said Alexis. They hung up.
In Sonny's penthouse the TV had been turned off and he was drinking. He threw the glass at the door. "Damnit." he said. He sat down and put his head in his hands. "I can't believe he'd do this." he said.
Elizabeth had seen the news and felt crushed. She picked up the phone and then put it down. What would she say? That she was sorry? That wouldn't help Lucky. She slumped back into the couch with the cordless phone.
