"Three years before I gave birth to Natasha I gave birth to you. Don't worry your real name has always been Stefan. I loved that name. As you know I was a governess and I worked hard to teach Stravos, but he was such an angry child. One day I ran into your father as I was chasing after Stravos and he stopped me. For some reason he wanted to know if I could sing and I told him I could. It was really strange because when I would roam the halls or secret passages I would sing and maybe he could have heard my voice. So he decided to take me around Europe to perform and during that time we fell in love. The necklace with my ring on it around Natasha's neck was in a way my wedding ring. It was to prove that in some way we were husband and wife. He gave me that ring after Stefan was born. I didn't want to give you up, but you would've been killed. It's the same thing you did for Nikolas. I had to cancel one of my performances because I was going into labor and at the time Helena was pregnant with Clomens's child. I went into labor before her and gave birth to you. I had you in my arms for only twenty minutes before they took you away forever. Mikkos told me Helena gave birth to a son, but it died after they took it to the nursery. I decided that she should raise you as her son to protect us and you from harm. Although, Helena was not fit to raise any child and what she did to both of you I will never forgive myself for. I watched you grow since I was also your governess and I tried to protect you from Helena's wrath. After a year I went back to performing and two years later your sister was born. I don't think you remember this, but after she was born you came to visit me. Mikkos brought you in to see your little sister. I told you that she was your sister and that you had to protect her no matter what. You smiled at me and I think you knew that I was your real mother. I couldn't explain it to you then because it was too complicated and you were so innocent. After Natasha was five and you were eight we were going to leave for America. Mikkos was going to pick you up when Helena arrived and you know the rest. A year or two later he wrote me and sent me pictures of the two of you. I was so glad that the two of you bonded even though you never knew that the two of you were siblings. I have his letters and pictures that he sent me, but they are still in Grispona." explained Kristen.
"I brought them back." said Alexis softly.
"I found your letters to Mikkos." said Stefan softly.
"Good. I have something to show you." said Kristen.
She took off her necklace and opened the heart locket to show Stefan and Alexis. It was a picture of a five year old Alexis on one side and a picture of a five year old Stefan on the other side. Tears welled up in their eyes. Alexis hugged her mother as Stefan looked at the picture of him and Alexis when they were little. Stefan got up and gave his mother her locket. He hugged her tightly and then gave his sister a hug.
"I always knew I was different from everyone else except from Alexis. We were always the same and I am glad to know that she is more of a sister than she was before. I am extremely happy to know that I have a loving and caring mother like you. I understand what you and our father had to do for me and my sister and I am grateful for that." said Stefan as tears welled up in his eyes. |
