Dr. Kevin Collins. For the first time in a year he felt the words were
actually his.
He used to define his entire life by his work, but that was before Lucy.
He
had tried to make the best of his talents, working for the Cassadine's
or
profiling in courtrooms. But it had never felt right to him. It was
like he
was manipulating people through psychology instead of helping them.
But that
was all in the past, and now he was standing in the middle of HIS office
in
General Hospital. It was sparsely decorated now, just the desk, some
chairs,
and the obligatory couch. He wondered if it was the same couch, he
had so
many nice memories of that couch and him and Lucy.
He tried to not think of Lucy. As long as they had to pretend to be
apart as
part of the almighty "plan", it would be in the interest of his own
continuing sanity if he'd try to keep his thoughts of her to a minimal.
But
it wasn't easy. He hadn't realized how many inanimate objects around
the
lighthouse held erotic memories of her. The kitchen table, the couch,
the
washing machine, the stairs... He had tried to take a cold shower,
but found
himself in the middle of the site of their greatest sexual feats; the
bathtub. His thoughts were interrupted by a janitor entering the room.
It
was pretty late. Kevin had just stopped by after the board re-instated
him.
"I'm leaving now," Kevin said as he grabbed his coat.
"God I hope not," a familiar voice said. The janitor removed his...
um her
wig and took off her thick glasses. She stepped out of the baggy outfit
and
was wearing a green teddy.
"Lucy, what on earth are you doing here?"
She cocked her head, "What do you think?"
He shook his head and tried not to look at her, "Remember the plan.
Rex
could be following you or something."
"Hence the disguise," she moved towards him and gave him a deep, passionate
kiss. Unfortunately Kevin's brain kept getting in the way.
"But Lucy," he said calmly, "What if somebody walks in?"
"Lock the door."
"But what if..."
She shook her head, "Kevin, why do I get the feeling that you want to
get
rid of me?"
"I don't *want* to, but I think I should. I mean, it's hard enough to
act
like were fighting without this. I mean, I don't think that I could..
you
know... and then run around town bad mouthing you tomorrow." He sighed,
"Rex
would notice the difference in me. He's not dumb."
Lucy's lips went into a pout. She couldn't believe her Doc was doing
this to
her. Kevin may have logic on his side, but she was not about to give
up.
Instead she sat in the chair across from him. "I hear you got your
license
back Doctor."
Kevin was slightly confused, "Yes, I did Lucy."
"Well that's why I'm here."
Kevin laughed, "I know, to congratulate me. And Lucy, it's tempting
but what
about..."
"What on earth makes you think that. I'm here for professional reasons."
She
snapped back.
Kevin looked at her and raised his eyebrows, "Dressed like that?"
"I thought it would be easier for me to really open up if I was in this,"
she lied.
Kevin began to chuckle slightly. "I'm being serious Kevin. I'm very
comfortable with my sexuality."
"I know."
"I was your patient for a time," she said as she leaned across his desk
to
wipe her lipstick off him, "Remember? So now I'm just coming back."
Kevin knew that he should just send her on her way back to the Port
Charles
Hotel. He was sure that if they actually slept together it would be
the
downfall of the whole scheme. But he found it impossible to actually
ask a
scantily clad Lucy to leave.
Whatever he did, he was sure he'd be kicking himself in the morning.
"Well
Ms. Coe, what seems to be your problem."
"Well my fiancee seems to find me unattractive." she pouted.
"I'm sure he doesn't. I think he is just concerned that his lying skills
aren't quite up to par with yours," she looked hurt. "What I mean is
that
I'm already having problems lying about us. I'm not good at it. And
if we
were together... well everyone would figure it out in an instant. There's
a
reason I don't play poker Lucy."
"Ms. Coe, if you don't mind doctor." She sighed, "well I suppose that's
really not my biggest problem. It's just that I've been feeling so
alone
lately. Stuck all by myself in this great big hotel room. Just HBO
and the
waiters to keep me company."
Kevin arched his eyebrows, "Tell me about these waiters?"
"It's nothing like that Doctor," she said defensively, "It's just that
when
I'm constantly eating to take my mind off things. I just need something
in
my mouth."
Kevin had to bite his tongue to keep from taking Lucy into his arms
right
then. He had to bite it even harder when she looked at him with her
big
brown eyes and asked, "Is there anything you can recommend to help
me?"
"I can put you down for some electroshock treatments," he finally said.
Lucy crossed her arms and looked at the floor. He knew exactly what
she was
doing, trying to get him caught up in some twisted game of seduction.
But
Kevin's competitive nature was about the only thing that could compete
with
his libido at this point. He was NOT going to let her win. At least
not
right now.
"Well how about dreams?" Lucy purred, "I mean should we talk about those?"
"If you insist on doing this Lucy," he sighed, "I mean it's not going
to
work."
She moved to the couch and laid down on it. She closed her eyes and
began to
speak. "I'm at a beach, or a lake or something. Only there's nobody
around.
I mean not for miles and miles. It's an incredibly hot day. So I take
off my
dress and decide to go skinny dipping. The water is so cold and nice.
I
don't think that anyone is watching me, so I begin to" she became silent
as
she started massaging her breasts.
Kevin dropped his pencil and took a deep breath. His mouth suddenly
became
dry as he watched her. Her hands moved lower until she was stroking
between
her thighs. She then turned her head and looked directly at Kevin.
"But I
wasn't alone. Someone had been there, watching me the entire time."
She
stood up and glided over to Kevin's chair. "He was very handsome. He
had
deep beautiful brown eyes, and the most amazing smile, but that wasn't
the
most remarkable thing about him." She unbuttoned his shirt and threw
it
aside.
"Lucy, I really don't think this is a good idea. I mean what about Scott
and
Serena."
"Could you please not think about Scott Baldwin right now?" she said slyly.
"Lucy," he said, realizing this was the point of no return. If she didn't
leave right now, he wasn't going to be able to control himself. "Lucy,
I
think you should go back to the hotel."
She took off his pants and stared at Kevin, "Your mind may want me to
go,
but your body seems to want me around." Before she could finish her
sentence
he was kissing her. His tongue remembered every inch of her mouth,
and how
much it had missed her. He tried to figure out the snaps on the teddy,
but
in frustration he just tore it off and threw it aside. She straddled
him on
the chair and began to rock as he moved to her breasts. She began moving
faster and leaned back and groaned. Kevin silenced her in a deep kiss.
When
they broke apart he put his hand over her mouth to muffle her screams
of
pleasure. The last thing his career needed was Alan Quartermaine to
wander
in to ask about the noise. He came a moment after her, and they kissed
gently.
"I guess we've christened the office," Kevin muttered.
Lucy took his face in her hands looked deep into his eyes. "I thought
I was
going to explode if I didn't have you soon. Do you know what it's like
trying to get to sleep without you next to me."
Kevin laughed and kissed her forehead, "I think I understand Lucy. Every
time I look at anything at home I think of you. I guess I'm going to
have
the same problem at the office now."
She laughed slightly, "Well it's nice to see the doctor is in again.
But
don't you dare try this type of therapy with anybody else."
He kissed her once more and looked at the desk, "You know, I bet you
that
desk is feeling like it was left out of this whole thing."
"Well," she said as her laid her on the cold oak, "we can't have that,
can
we, Dr. Collins?"
