Amy Carlson made daytime debut on "Another World" as spitfire Josie Watts in 1993. Originally from Glen Ellyn, Illinois, Carlson has spent a large part of her life traveling. While still in high school, she spent a year in Amman, Jordan, where her parents were working as teachers. She has been to every U.S. state except Alaska, and she spent time in Central Africa doing relief work.

Carlson got bit by the acting bug while attending Knox College, and she appeared on stage in such productions as "Fifth of July," "Noises Off," "A Lie of the Mind," and "School for Scandal." She graduated cum laude with a B.F.A. in history and concentration in theater.

She worked alongside John Goodman in the feature film "Babe," and television credits include "The Untouchables," "Missing Persons," and "Legacy of Lies." "When not in front of the camera, Carlson plays the electric bass and guitar with a band called "Porridge." She also enjoys softball, horseback riding, whitewater rafting, and inline skating. Her birthday is July 7.

Amy is 5'6" tall, 105lbs. Has 3 cats and lives in East Village in New York City. she is one of 4 kids. One sister is called Betsey. Her dad was an English teacher once. Amy was also in all honours classes in high school.
