My Bedroom

Oh dear, please excuse the mess. I'm allergic to any form of cleaning activity, so things do tend to build up. Shall I tell you a bit about myself? Sit down - if you can find a clear space...

My name is Karen, (nicknames include Phoebe, Kay and Casey) I'm 17 years old and I live in New Zealand, the most beautiful country in the world. I have three younger siblings, who conspire to torment me, two parents, multiple soft toys and a cat. I go to Waitaki Girls' High School, and I'm in Year 13, which is my final year of school. (We get to wear mufti. The joy. Oh, and we get a microwave.) Next year, I intend to attend Canterbury University and begin a double degree in Law and somethng in Arts - probably Eng. Lit. or Theatre Studies. Bored enough?

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens lalala - These are a few of my favourite things!

Colour - Blue. Practically every piece of clothing I own is blue and my bedroom has a very blue orientated colour scheme. I guess I like blue because I like the ocean and the sky.
Subjects - Classics, English, German, Japanese and Chemistry. I like school. So sue me *shrug*. I'm probably best at English.
Music *sweatdrop* Pretty much everything, actually. Faves include Counting Crows, Jewel, The Corrs, Sherryl Crow and even the Backstreet Boys. I like their harmonies, okay?
Food - Anything edible, basically. I *love* chocolate and Tip Top Jelly Tip icecream, also pizza, pasta and all Japanese food with the notable exception of tofu.
Drink - Coke. (Or, how to stay perky on four hours sleep) Also L&P, which is world famous in New Zealand!
Movies - "Heavenly Creatures", "Shakespeare In Love", "The English Patient", "In and Out", "Romeo + Juliet" and "Robin Hood: Men in Tights". I'm told that if I ever watched "The Princess Bride" I'd like it, but the VCR is broken and we show no signs of getting a new one *sigh*. My absolute favourite movie is the Kenneth Branagh and Emma Thompson version of "Much Ado About Nothing." Damn, it's funny.
Books - Anything by David Eddings, Terry Pratchett, Sherryl Jordan, Gaelyn Gordan, Paula Boock and Robert Jordan. (Although I'm getting sick of waiting for some plot points to be resolved in WoT. And the last one didn't even mention Mat! Hmph.)

What I Want To Do With My Life

Act. Failing that, write. Unfortunately, neither profession is considered feasible by income standards, so I'm going to learn how to be a lawyer too. Fun-fun.

What I Actually Do With My Life

Right now, it's a cycle of school, work, eat, sleep. Oh, the joy. I'm involved in a lot of stuff at school - Theatresports, Debating and Choir are highlights, and I also run the International Club (they made me International Prefect this year, and the job went with the title. It's a lot of fun, actually, and probably very good for me). Outside school I go to Speech and Drama lessons, and I work as a checkout chick at a department store. In September I'm going to Japan for ten weeks (WAI!!) and that will be very cool ^_^! Well, that's about it. If there's anything else you'd like to know about me, let me know. I assure you, it will probably be very dull.
