Good News Weekend screens
on the ABC at 9:30pm Saturday. The show came about as a result of
the regular show hosted by Roy and HG going on hiatus for a short period
while Roy and HG went to England. It's the same format as the Friday
night show, host Paul McDermott leads two teams of three captained by Mikey
Robbins and Julie McCrossin through a series of games. The main differences
between the Friday and Saturday night show are that the games are based
more around popluar culture than politics and news, it's half an hour longer,
includes skits from The Sandman, Flacco, and Keith the Moravian Swearing
Bear, has a houseband (the Gadflys), has a regular guest band/muso and
features a song at the end, featuring the wonderful voice of Paul McDermott.
