Alexis wakes up in the middle of the night, screaming from having a nightmare.

A- NO! STOP IT! NED! STOP IT!

This wakes Ned, who is sleeping on the couch. He goes upstairs to find Alexis huddled in the corner of the bed, crying quietly. She looks up, but doesn't move. Ned goes over to sit on the bed and hold her.

N- Want to tell me what it was about?

A- Not really.

N- It will help.

A- I saw my old beau...he was...hitting me... well I thought.. it was him...but...but I looked up...and saw...you.

N- Oh, Alexis. I will never, ever raise a hand to you. I promise. Listen, you should get some sleep.

A- Will you stay with me?

N- Of course.

Alexis falls asleep to the soothing sound of Ned's voice.

N- Shh, it's going to be alright, hon...

Ned stopped talking abruptly. He almost called her honey. Wow, things were moving fast. Good thing Alexis was asleep.
