It's 5:00 pm. Alexis is just finishing up her work at the hospital when the phone rings.

A- Alexis Davis.

Voice- Ned Ashton.

A- Hello.

N- Hi, how are you?

A- Wonderful.

N- Stop lying.

A- OK, so I'm not wonderful. How are you?

N- Fine. Maybe I can make you feel better. Are you busy tomorrow night?

A- No. Why?

N- Would you like to go out and ring in the new year with me?

A- Sure. Where?

N- I don't know. Can I see you tonight, also?

A- I'm not sure about two nights in a row.

N- Afraid you'll lose control, counselor?

A- No. I'm afraid you will.

N- You flatter yourself. I assure you that I'll be a perfect gentleman.

A- OK then.

N- Why don't I pick you up at 7:00 and we can go to the Outback?

A- Sounds great. I'll see you then.

N- Until tonight, counselor.

Alexis finishes her work and goes to the Port Charles Hotel. She can't decide what to wear and doesn't know why she is so nervous. It was just a date. Maybe they'd...she wants too but...anyways, what should she wear. Finally, she found a simple, off-white, sleeveless dress. She took her hair down and found some matching shoes. She wanted to look just right. Alexis was trying to convince herself that it was just Ned and he likes her no matter how she looks. But Ned wasn't just Ned. He was one of the most important things in her life. She heard a knock on the door.

A- Hello. Come in.

N- Hi. Are you ready?

Ned couldn't take his eyes off her. Alexis noticed and started to blush.

A- Just let me get my coat.

N- Let me help you with that.

She holds her hair up as Ned helps her into her coat. He thinks tonight could be the night.

A- You look good.

N- You do,too. Off-white is a nice color for you.

A- Thanks.

N- Let's go.

A- Let's.
