I rented JW's Once A Thief from Blockbusters tonight and I just finished watching it. I love it. It's like a action-romantic-comedy combo thing. VERY GOOD. It's too bad we don't get he tv series here in the US!!! I would love it! Anyway, I totally enjoyed the movie and I'm definitely buying it once it comes out on video. Also, everyone get THE REPLACEMENT KILLERS video. I loved it!!! As usual, Chow Yun-Fat is as slick and smooth s ever!!! Chow's trademark "guns-in-both-hands, dive-while-you-shoot cool" But I really enjoyed OAT and hopefully it will be showing in the US???? And anyone with any current events on John Woo and especially Chow Yun-Fat PLEASE email me with the info. Thanks. Must say the story line of OAT seems very similar to that show a year ago that was on the WB. It was called simply THREE. Does anyone know about that? The site is great! Its a great show its too bad that it was cancelled! I hope it experiences a re-birth. I don't understand why many people don't watch it. Once A Thief is the best Canadian show I have seen and one o the best overall. I like all the characters in this show but my fav stars are Mac (Ivan), and Li Ann (Sandrine)! Everyone on the show is very talented and great actors! The only thing that I didn't like about this show was the season finale. Why did they have to kill them? Well I hope if it does come back on air (by some miracle) with a new season that somehow they will bring back the same characters and the same actors to portray them! One thing that I would want to see in the show is Mac and Li Ann get ing back together... they are perfect for each other! They have great chemistry together. Mac is funny, Li Ann is smart, Victor is serious, the director is uhhh ... strange... what can you say... they are the perfect actors for this show! I guess I really like this show also cause its Canadian. I hardly see any good Canadian shows that I like... why did they have to cancel it? If it was advertised more and people got to know what it was maybe more people would watch! This show is action packed, interesting funny, and has great actors, producers, and directors! It's a fantastic show and I can't believe they are cancelling it - just when I find/have a show I REALLY hate to miss! I love John Woo's work and the show is such an intelligent, creative, action-packed sho with style. Just as important is the fact that the actors that star in it are perfectly suited to their characters and the dynamics of the team and the chemistry and humor that the actors share is amazing. I mean, who can resist Mac or Victor (my sister nd I keep arguing which one we're gonna marry *LOL*). Sandrine/Li Ann is just one of the most gorgeous women I've seen on television (although a bit too thin...) and it sure isn't hard to wonder why Victor and Mac fell for her. Jennifer Dale has found th perfect role in the Director and the others (The Cleaners, Jackie, etc...) bring an element of fun and spark that make this show so special. Although there have been a few quirky episodes, the show has been overall fantastic and the best parts are the on s that deal with the team and the Director themselves - especially Mac and Li Ann's romantic tension and their ties to the Tang family. It wiill be a great loss if this show is cancelled - there's nothing else like it out there. I for one will be greatly addened with the loss... :( |

If the show just had a better time slot, anything other than Saturday night, I know it would not have been cancelled. I can't believe that stupid sitcoms can stay on the air for years but the first amazing action show from John Woo an't even last more than one season. Canadian shows like Once a Thief could be so successful if they were just given a chance. Thanks for putting up this site. It has all the action seen in Face/Off and lot of humour, which is the most perfect combination on TV. The only show that I think can compete with OAT is Buffy, but what's better about OAT is that it's completely CANADIAN!! I think Mac is the best thief because he is sooo funny and really cute. It's made in Canada and all the actors are Canadians. That's great, but very few people mentioned director John Woo( of course Hong Kong chinese now lives in the U.S.) who is mainly responsible for the sucess of the show. In ase, you don't know, this show is a remake of Hong Kong popular movie Once A Thief starred by Hong Kong action hero Chow Yun-Fat. With this remake, Woo gives the movie excitement and great actings to the actors and actresses. without him, Those actors and actresses would not have been known to us.
