| (1st Story)by Peter Fong: the main character is a not too inteligent guy
(actually he's an idiot) but one with a very good heart. He's often fooled by his
fellow-scholars. One time they fooled him into believing that the statue of Luk Poon Kwoon
(some god that has the duty to lead the just-died to the other world) comes alive at night
and made him stay at the temple for the night. But his "friends" dressed like
Luk Poon and scared the main to a near-death status. He met the real Luk Poon and they
became friends. Luk Poon even agreed to swap the main character's heart so he would be
much smarter. Unfortunately, intelligent comes with greed. And the main character became
an evil person. He even blackmailed Luk Poon into swapping the head of his wife (an
excellent part played by "May May" Ma Tai Lo) with that of a just-died
beautifull woman (A Gwai from Kindred). Of course he can't be left unpunished and the fiancee of "Ah Gwai" (played by Lap Sung) comes to find his wife in spe and accuse him (the main character) for murder. Opinion: this story was quite enjoyable in the beginning. Ma Tai Lo was really funny, but once her head was swapped with that of "Ah Gwai" her character wasn't that interesting anymore... The overall story is just too predictable to really be enjoyed. The SFX are really crappy BTW. Only fun part was the one with Ma Tia Lo (who'd expect that I would actually like to watch her after her May May-part in Kindred) |

| Peter Fong: Lui Jung Yan plays Kam Yuk who is a hunter and went to hunt a tiger
with his "friend" That "friend" tried to kill Kam Yuk after the tiger was killed and receive all the credit from their village.. Kam Yuk fell down a hill and "bird fairy" (Vivian Leung) rescues him Kam Yuk is taken to the valley of fairies to heal only to learn that Vivian Leung is actually the bird that he had as a pet many years ago and which he made a promise to marry her later when he grows up. They develop a relationship and stuff and but one is a fairy and one is a human so they had to go through lots of hardships to come together. Especially when the King Bird (a condor who looked more like a owl to me) loved Vivian Leung too. He thought up a test for Vivian and Kam Yuk to see wether they really love eachother. They passed it and they got married. But Kam Yuk had to promised that he will never change his love and keep the fact that Vivian being a fairy a secret. Once
they're back to the normal world, Kam Yuk was beaten up because the villagers
thought he was the one that backed out of the tiger hunt. And the "friend" of
Kam Yuk became the head of the police force because of his heroic doings during the tiger
hunt (of course it's Kam yuk he did it) But fame and wealth makes a man egoistic and Kam Yuk is no exception. Especially when
Vivian Leung constantly embaress him with her "fairy" method of life. l Vivian Leung had sworn to kill Kam Yuk when he failed her love and she had to do that
in order to become a fairy again. But of course she loved him too much to kill him and
lost all of her powers and become a bird again.... PF's opinion: I actually enjoyed this story. Although the whole part in the middle was completely overused and too dragging. The beginning and the end (the last five seconds) made it worth to watch. Only too bad TVB decided to put a "moral" in each of their "Dark Tales" and made a sad story out of this one.... (Who'd choose Sit Ka Yin over Vivian Leung anyway?) |

| Peter Fong: This story is no doubt my favorite Dark Tale. Leung Wing Chung does a
great job as the latest descendant of the Yeung Generals family. Although his Kung Fu is
one of the best, he is too kindhearted to actually fight anyone. That's also the reason
why he is often picked on by his friends. And his wife (Gigi from A Kindred Spirit.) has
to be a tough lady to compensate for his weakness. often helping him out of harsh
situations. But what they doesn't know, is that his wife has eaten a magic pill when she was young. Making her be the prey of a vampire monster. Of course, the weapon of the Yeung family, the dragon lance, is the only weapon that can kill that monster. But how can Leung Wing Chung defeat him if he can't even use that lance to hurt anything alive? Things become even more complicated when he dies. But a taoist helped him and gave him the chance to change his fate a la Back To The Future. Leung Wing Chung has to go back in time as a ghost to prevent hmself from dying and even makes his relationship with his wife better. With Leung wing chung playing in this story, hilariously funny moments are garuanteed. I recommend anyone to watch this story and just skip the rest. |

| Peter Fong: this is also a very enjoyable story. Chan Ho Man (Semi God Demi Devils) is a scholar that stays in a monk's temple. One day he understood the buddha's teachings and was able to get a five-colour-lotus This incident woke up an old monk that has been practising in the temple for 50 years.Chan Ho Man (without his own knowing) retrieve the the results of the 50-years of meditation from that old monk. Making Chan Ho Man be one of the most wanted people for monsters all over the place. The monsters thought that Chan Ho Man, as the last one that saw that old monk would know the location of the scipture that that monk wrote. And all those monsters are trying to capture him (without knowing that HE is the scipture). The fox monster Lau Yuk Chui is also one of those monsters, but she fell in love with Chan Ho Man while trying to find out about the scipture's location. |

| Peter Fong: Sorry, after watching 7 stories really couldn't stand
it anymore. I've skipped this story after the first 2 eps. I just can't stand it how TVB
re-use it's cliches over and over again. The story is something like this. Jackie Liu is a
demon hunter, but fell in love with a demon (Cheung Wai Yee). He also pissed another
demon off, so that demon wants to take revenge on her. Like I said, this a another cliche DT-story. After watchin 7 eps, I can pretty much tell what will happen. This might be one of the most interesting story of DT though, but I just don't have the patience to go through it anymore. |
