B'Elanna walked to the holodeck to meet up with Tom. He'd invited her to join him to show off a new holodeck program and to talk. They hadn't spoken to each other or even made eye contact since the Pon Farr incident. She longed to look into Tom's cerulean blue eyes, and she hadn't in such a long time. It was driving her crazy. Every time she came near him, she became nervous like a teen on a first date.

B'Elanna suddenly realized how deeply she cared for Tom when she remembered how he had comforted her when she was separated into two different B'Elannas. At that, she finally had the courage to confront Tom, and did not hesitate to enter when she came upon the doorway to Holodeck three. She found Tom listening to a twentieth- century music selection, but stopped immediately as she walked in. She found him in what looked to be a twentieth-century living room with a large fire place and stereo system.
"I'm impressed," B'Elanna remarked looking around to inspect the room. "The clothes are impeccable too," she said referring to Tom's jeans and Hawaiian T-shirt.
"Oh, this! I was just waiting for you. This isn't the program that I wanted to show you, or the clothes for that matter," he said. "The program I installed is a ski resort," he said with a grin on his face.
"Great! We all know how much I love the cold!" she said sarcastically.
"Don't worry. I've got a special thermal ski suit just for you. It'll keep your body temperature at 75 degrees, and if it doesn't, we can always relive our activities at Tantrum Four."
"Don't be a pig, Paris," B'Elanna said trying to sound serious but couldn't help but be flattered by Tom's remark.

"Computer, run ski program Paris 12, subroutine M," said Tom, followed by the whoosh of the computer as a ski lodge and mountains materialized around them.
"Tom, this is great, really, but where's the thermal suit?" B'Elanna asked with a tone of impatience in her voice. She snatched the suit from his hands. "Now, where do I change into this thing?
All Tom could do was grin.
"A joke is a joke Tom, but if you want me to stick around to look this program over, then you had better have a room where I can change..." She never got to finish her sentence, because Tom leaned over and gave her a sense shattering kiss.
Their blood started to boil, even though the lodge was at least two below freezing.
Tom hadn't felt this attracted to anyone since his fiancée had been killed on Caldik Prime, and neither had B'Elanna. She wanted to mark him and take him for her own right there, but her professionalism reasserted itself. Just then Tom broke away, gasping for air.

"Tom, why did you stop?" Tom just stood there amazed.
"I was getting ready to have my jaw broken, he stammered.
"Why were you so sure that I was going to break your jaw; huh, flyboy," her brown eyes flashing.
"It's just that whenever I even compliment how you look, you stare me down with looks that would make Capt. Janeway proud." B'Elanna just stood there.
"Just because we don't always see eye to eye doesn't mean that I don't care about you," she said looking a little hurt.
"B'Elanna, I..."
"Never mind, `Paris," B'Elanna remarked bitterly. "Let's just get on with this program."
"Fine," but Tom was actually thinking, "So it's back to calling me `Paris' now, is it?"
The two of them just stood in place with their chins tucked in.
"So if I'm going to change, where's the dressing room?"
"Down the hall, to the right. I'll wait here."
"Thanks, Tom," B'Elanna remarked as she started towards the dressing room, then stopped. "Thanks a lot." She walked back to Tom and planted a small peck on his cheek.
"I love this woman," Tom thought.
"I'll be right here Bella," Tom reassured her
 "I know," said B'Elanna.

Coming soon, chapter two!
