Writers Note:This chapter takes place several days later....
Emily, Vicki, Lizzie and Lucky are sitting in the cafeteria of PCH. Vicki and Em are explaining their plan to Lizzie and Lucky.
"Wow, it sounds like you guys are putting a lot of effort into this." Lizzie said. "Is there anythign that I can do to help? I mean, after all, I am good at doing things people don't want to know about." Vicki and Emily laughed, that was definitely true. Lizzie did have that special quality about her.
"No thanks, Liz. I think between the dinner we are making and the song we're going to sing, it should be enough."
"Wait, you're cooking?" Lucky interjected, looking at Emily. Are you sure that's such a good idea?" Emily made a face at him before replying.
"Oh shut up, Lucky Spencer. At least I don't burn water!"
"What's this about burning water?" Vicki asked as Lucky turned a nice shade of red.
"It's....nothing." Emily lauged as she leaned over and whispered to Vicki and Lizzie.
"Yeah, nothing that he wants to remember." All three girls collapsed into giggles.
Moments later the bell rang and Lucky all but jumped out of his seat to make his getaway.
"Well, uh, good luck you guys. Vicki, I know that the dance is tomorrow and you'll probably be busy, but do you want to meet me at Kelly's for breakfast?"
"Sure. That'd be great."
"Okay. Great. I'll call you later on to tell you what time."
"Great." Lucky just smiled and walked away.
"Oooooh..." Emily and Lizzie said, desperately trying not to collapse into yet another fit of giggles. Vicki just looked at them.
"Oooooh what?"
"Vicki Garcia, you are Lucky Spencer's girlfriend." Lizzie said.
"What? I am not. We're going to the dance together, that's all."
"Don't you want to be his girlfriend?" Emily asked.
"Of course I do. But, for all I know, for all we know, he could be taking me to this dance as a friend." Lizzie just shook her head.
"Uh-uh." She said. "Lucky's not like that. He likes you. If he didn't like you like that he wouldn't spend all his time with you."
"She's right." Emily agreed. "Maybe tomorrow morning he'll officially ask you to be his girlfriend."
"Maybe." Vicki said. "Maybe."
Several hours later Jenn and Alex were seated at a small round table that was beautifully done with a white table cloth, candles and flowers. As they looked at each other in the candle light, Jenn couldn't help but giggle softly.
"This really was sweet of them to do. In a way, I feel bad that we didn't tell them." She said.
"I do too. But, if we don't tell them that we were already back together, then they can think that it was all this" he said waving his hand around, "that put us together. And that's not such a bad thing."
"No, it's not."
Just then Vicki and Emily came out. Vicki was holding her CD boom box in her hand. She and Emily were both grinning like chesire cats.
"What's all this?" Alex asked.
"Emily and I have some entertainment planned for you." Vicki said as she hit the play button. Suddenly, the music to "Truly, Madly, Deeply" began to play. Vicki took a deep breath and began to sing....
I'll be your dream, I'll be your wish, I'll be your fantasy.
I'll be your hope, I'll be your love, be everything that you need.
I'll love you more with every breath, truly, madly, deeply, do
Vicki and Emily: I want to stand with you on a mountain,
I want to bathe with you in the sea,
I want to lay like this forever, until the sky falls down on me....
After the song Alex and Jenn applaud loudly for them, obviously impressed.
"I had no idea that you two were so talented." Alex said.
"Well, I've always loved to sing and I figured this was a special occasion so..."
Finally, Emily couldn't take it anymore. She had to ask. With out thinking she blurted out: "So, did it work? Are you guys back together?!" Alex and Jenn looked at her, then each other stunned. They both laughed quietly and finally Jenn answered her.
"Yes, we are. Thanks to you two." Vicki and Emily looked at them. Finally Vicki managed to ask if they were serious. Jenn and Alex nodded. Vicki and Emily let out of whoop of joy. Their plan had worked! By the time Emily and Jenn had gone home that night everyone was in high spirits.
Now if Vicki could get through breakfast with Lucky and the dance she'd be happy...what if he did ask her to be his girlfriend? As she layed in bed that night she thought about it over and over again. As she drifted off to sleep that night, she had a smile on her face. It had been a great night and hopefully the next day would be even better.
Alex watched with tears in his eyes as Vicki headed off to the dance with Lucky, Emily and Nikolas. He had taken this whole father thing to heart and like any father, he was having a hard time realizing that Vicki wasn't a little girl. She was fifteen years old. Soon there would be drivers licenses, sweet sixteen parties, rated R movies, graduation parties, college....the list went on and on. The very thought of it all made him groan.
"It's more painful then you thought, huh?" Jenn asked, coming up behind him and putting her arms around his waist.
"Yeah. I didn't think it would be, but it is. I mean, she just became my daughter and now she's practically grown up. I mean the next thing you know she'll be off to college and - -" The sound of Jenn's laughter stopped him midsentence. "I'm glad you find this so funny," he said.
"I don't Alex. But you have to realize that she's only 15. She's got a little while yet til she graduates high school. You are the only parent and stable environment she's known since she was little. I don't think she'd be in a hurry to leave it." Alex turned to her and pulled her to him.
How is it you always know what to say to me?" Jenn looked up at him and smiled. "I don't know", she said. "I guess I just have a knack for that sort of thing."
"You certainly do." He hugged her gently then bent down and kissed her softly on the lips. Jenn looked up at him with a smile.
"I've got an idea. Why don't we go back inside and I'll make you dinner and we can have our own little date."
"I've got a better idea. Let's go out."
"Where?"
"The PC Grille." Jenn grinned like a little kid. "Dinner at the PC Grille?" She asked. "Wow, a real date?"
"A real date. Just you and me."
"Let's go."
Writers Note: I have decided to stop updating this story, for now. I'm having writers block right now. I may update it eventually. In the meantime I am going to start working on a new fanfiction. It'll probably be centered around General Homicide murders. (I will most likely be including the character of Jenn Quartermaine again because I'll be referring to his personal life and how the murders are affecting him outside of the office.) Thank you for being so patient. -Kim
