Midnight Madness

On October 18, at about 9:00 p.m., my dad, my sister, my friend Beth and I arrived at Assembly Hall and got in line with a ton of other insane IU fans waiting for the doors to open. Finally at 10:00, as we were about as squished up against the doors as we could get, they let us in. It was almost worth the wait just to see all these people sprinting up the ramps to get a good seat. After much pushing and shoving, we ended up in the 7th row from the bottom, center court. Then we had to wait two hours until midnight, when they players ran out and the place went nuts. They went through some warm-up drills and showed off with a few dunks. Then they settled into their practice routine and the crowd died down.

Here's a few of the pictures we took:

The team gathers around Coach Knight for some words of wisdom.

Dane Fife can't understand why he missed that free throw.

Michael Lewis taking a Gatorade break.

Like father, like son.

Lewis to Recker: "You're tired already?!"

Recker amazes a manager and Tom Geyer with his free throw ability.

Recker swats away flies as he prepares for another free throw.
