Angel’s Girl

by LIPS000000

“Why?”, Buffy asked.

“You have to Buffy.”, Giles said.

“No. I won’t Giles, I won’t.”, Buffy pleaded.

“You have been ordered to.”, Giles said.

“I won’t kill him Giles. It doesn’t matter what you say.”, Buffy cried, as she ran out of the library.

Giles just watched her leave.

Buffy ran all the way to an empty building. She pounded on the door. It opened. She ran in, and closed the door, not knowing who had opened it.

The night was dark, so Buffy couldn’t see the kind person who had let her into their home.

“Thanks. It was just so cold, and I had nowhere else to go........”, Buffy trailed off when she saw who her good Samaritan was.

“Angel?”, she asked.

He smiled.

“Yeah, it’s me.”, he said.

“Wow. What a coincidence.”, she said, sitting on his bed, her back turned away from him.

“Yeah, why are you so upset?”, Angel asked.

She remained silent, and he went over to her.

“Please. Tell me.”, Angel said, turning her to face him.

He felt his heart break at the sight of her. Her face was covered in tears, and she looked so scared.

“I,I,......I can’t.”, Buffy said, trying to pull away from him.

“What happened?”, Angel asked, holding onto her.

“Giles. He told me that I have to.......the Watcher’s Council ordered.......I have to.....”, she trailed off, and broke down in a fit of sobs.

“They want you to kill me, don’t they?”, he said, a single tear falling down his face.

“Yes.”, she whispered.

He held her tightly, and she sobbed.

“What am I gonna do?”, Buffy asked.

“I don't know.”, he said.

He held her tighter, and her sobs got louder.

Giles was sitting in the library, and researching. He knew he couldn’t find a way out of this, except the one choice he would never let her make. Would she ask Angel to bring her over? He pounded his head on the table, and sighed.

Ms. Calendar walked into the library, and saw Rupert asleep. She walked over to him, and tapped him on the shoulder.

“Ummm...”, he mumbled.

“Are you ok?”, Jenny asked.

He looked up at her, and a tear fell down his face.

“She’s going to do it.”, he said.

“What? What’s Buffy going to do?”, Jenny asked.

“She’s going to become a vampire, and I can’t do anything about it.”, he said, his head falling.

“You have to do something.”, Jenny said, very upset.

“When Buffy makes up her mind, she can’t be forced into doing anything else.”, he said.

“Why? Why is she doing this?”, Jenny asked, lifting his head up and wiping his tears. She held him to her, and he cried. She didn’t know what to do, but she had to make everything better.

After Buffy stopped crying, she sat Angel down on the bed, and told him she had to ask him to do something for her.

“What?”, he asked, holding her hand.

“I want you to make me a vampire Angel.”, she said, looking deep into his eyes.

“Why?”, he asked.

“If I become a vampire, I won’t have to kill you.”, she said.

“You know everything, don’t you?”, he asked.

“I read about a Slayer in the Watcher Diaries. When she was changed, she remained the same. Her soul was intact, and all she did was crave blood.”, Buffy said, holding his hand tighter.

“Are you positive you want to do this? You’ll never be able to go back to your life again Buffy. Are you sure you want to give up everything because of me?”, he asked, letting go of her hand, and stroking her cheek.

“Yes. I’d do anything to stay with you Angel. I love you.”, she said, kissing him.

They fell back onto the bed, but Angel pulled away.

“Let’s get it over with.”, he said, his face shifted.

Tears fell down her face, and Angel felt his soul dissapear when he bit her. The hunger took over, and he sucked almost all of her life from her. Then, he bit his arm, and he sucked on it greedily. When she was finished, she sat up, and smiled.

“How do you feel?”, he asked, touching her shifted face.

“Strange.”, she said, feeling her face.

“You look so different. I never thought I’d see you like this.”, he said, still touching her face.

She smiled, and her face returned to normal.

“I’m hungry.”, she said, pouting.

He laughed, and got up to get her a “drink”. When he came back, she was busy looking at herself in the mirror.

“Weird, isn’t it?”, he said, handing her a glass of blood.

“Yeah.”, she said, turning to face him.

She smiled, and walked toward him.

“I’m so happy.”, she said.

“So, am I.”, he said, kissing her.

He put his arms around her, and lifted her in the air.

Giles and Jenny had called Willow and Xander, and they were all in the library, discussing.

“I can’t believe she did this. Are you sure she did it?”, Xander asked.

“I think so. She hasn’t contacted me, and that’s not a good sign.”, Giles said.

Willow wiped her tears, and looked up at Giles.

“Why don’t you call over there?”, Willow asked.

“I can’t. She won’t speak to me after what I ordered her to do.”, Giles said.

“I’ll call her.”, Willow said.

She picked up the phone, and asked Giles for the number.

“Hello?”, she heard a voice ask.

“Buffy?”, Willow said, trying to hold back her tears.

“Willow?”, Buffy asked.

“Are you ok?”, Willow asked.

“I did it Will. You can tell everybody that.”, Buffy said, tears falling down her face.

“I know.”, Willow said, tears falling down her face.

“Tell my mom I love her.”, Buffy said.

“I will.”, Willow said, sobbing.

“I’ll talk to you later. Ok?”, Buffy said.

“Ok.”, Willow said, throwing the phone down on the floor.

Willow collapsed into a fit of sobs, and Xander ran to hold her.

Giles picked up the phone.

“Hello?”, he said.

“Hi Giles.”, Buffy said, he could hear her crying.

“Are you going to be ok?”, he asked, crying again.

“Yeah. Angel will take good care of me, you can count on that.”, Buffy said.

“I know.”, he said, sniffling.

“I’ll miss you.”, Buffy said, crying.

“I’ll miss you too, Slayer.”, Giles said.

Buffy started to sob, and she quickly added, “You’ll always be my Watcher.”

She hung up the phone, and fell into Angel’s arms.

A week went by, and Mrs. Summers gave up all hope of finding her daughter. She had heard from Willow that Buffy had decided to end her life, and Joyce just couldn’t except that. But now, she knew after the week ended, she had to plan a proper funeral for her daughter.

“Willow. How nice to see you.”, Joyce said, hugging the girl.

“Are you okay?”, Willow asked, handing Buffy’s mom a kleenex.

“I just miss her so much. I can’t believe she would jump off a cliff.”, Joyce said.

“I wanted to give you this.”, Willow said, holding out an envelope.

On the envelope was written: Mom. Joyce opened it, and read:

Mom,

I know how bad you must be feeling now, and I’m sorry for what I have done. I just didn’t think the life of Buffy Summers was one that should be lived out, when I felt so bad living it myself. But you can be happy that I’m happy where I am now, and I’m with the person I love, me and Angel will be happy together, and he’ll take good care of me. I love you. I miss you.

Goodbye.

Buffy

Joyce felt the letter fall out of her hand, and she colapsed to the ground.

Xander ran and picked her up, leading her to her seat.

Giles walked up to the memorial gravestone Joyce had put up. It said:

BUFFY SUMMERS

Loving Daughter Good Friend

We Miss You Sweet Angel.

The Watcher collapsed, and started to sob. He knew Buffy was still alive, but the Slayer he had trained was dead. She would never be the smiling face he saw every morning, now she was the enchanting vampire, that he saw once in a while, walking side by side, with her true love that had made her.

When Joyce got home, she laid on Buffy’s bed, and started to look through her daughter’s things. She came to Buffy’s diary, and read the last entry.

Well, my day wasn’t very good today. I found out I have to kill the person I love. But, I really don’t think that the Watcher’s Council will be the ones to make me ever kill Angel. I love him to much, and that’s why I’m doing what I’m doing.

Goodbye.

Buffy

Joyce set the diary down, not thinking about what that meant. She grabbed the teddy bear that lay on the bed, and held it, until the phone rang.

“Hello?”, Joyce said.

“I love you mom.”, a voice said.

“Buffy?”, Joyce asked.

The phone went dead.
