Angel sat in his loft, staring at the ceiling. He couldn’t stop seeing her face. She was the only thing that ever occupied his mind. Buffy. Her name was like music to his ears. Her blond hair, green eyes, and soft lips. Her smile, the way it made him forget all his troubles. But he had to forget her. Her face, smile, eyes, lips, and body. Oh, her body. She was a goddess. The way she moved back and forth. She made him weak when she strode over to him the way she always did, everyday. Then she would smile and it made him want to die a thousand more deaths. But they just couldn’t be together. He had to leave her to live her own life. She didn’t need him. He fell to the floor and prayed to god to make him forget her. Then there was a knock at the door. He opened it. There she was. She fell into his arms and fainted. He looked up and saw a few vampires a block away that must have chased her. He locked the door and carried her in. He placed her on his bed and peeled off her dress slowly. He trembled when he unbuttoned it and her chest was exposed. He got her dress off and placed her under the blanket. She was still out cold.
Buffy woke up and felt someone touching her back. She screamed. She turned to see who it was and smiled. He had a rag with alcohol on it and he was cleaning her cuts. She knew she must have frightened him because of the look on his face.
“What happened?”, she asked.
“You were being chased by a group and you came here. I put you in bed.”, Angel said, with his head still toward the floor.
She put her hand on his chin and pulled his face to look at hers. Then she smiled her usual smile, and kissed him lightly.
“Thank You. For everything.”, she said, smiling.
He looked up at her, surprised, but happy. “You’re welcome. I would do anything for you.”, he said, smiling.
Buffy was ready to kiss him again when he pulled away suddenly. Then he walked into his kitchen and opened the refrigerator.
“Hungry?”, Buffy asked, frightened.
“Yeah.”, Angel took the bag of blood and held it in his hands.
Then he looked at Buffy embarrassed. She smiled, as if knowing he was not ready for her to see him feed yet. She got dressed, as Angel watched her from the kitchen. Then she took a last look at him, and left. Angel tore open the bag of blood and fed. He thought of Buffy, and what she would have said if he had let her watch him feed. But he couldn’t see that terrified look on her face again. Like it had been that night. When she saw his real form. He pushed that thought from his mind. He finished feeding, and threw the bag away. Then he sat doen on his bed. God, why did she have to always look like a goddess?
Buffy sat on her bed and smiled. For one night maybe I won’t be crying, she thought. Tonight’s events had completely blocked everything wrong in her and Angel’s relationship. She just felt like screaming out to the world about their love. But she had to sleep now. It was late. 12:55 A.M. So she got into bed and screamed as the hand clasped around her mouth.
Angel woke up suddenly. Something’s wrong. Buffy needed him. He had to see her. He ran out of his loft to go find her. But she found him. Well her body found him. It fell onto him with a hard blow. He thought she was dead. But she wasn’t. She hissed at him. Her face was shifted and she was growling loudly. He pushed her off of him and she flew into the air. She landed on her legs.
“Buffy. Buffy don’t do this.”, Angel pleaded with her.
She growled. “Angel I have a new life now. And I love it. Now you will die.”
She lunged at him with a stake in her hand. But Angel’s face shifted and he growled back at her.
“Play nice.”, Angel heard a voice from behind.
It was Colin. He had a smug smile on his face.
“Well I finally got what I wanted. The slayer and her lover, fighting, vampire to vampire. Winner take all.”, He said.
“Why are you doing this?”, Angel growled.
“I just want to see what you’ll do. Will you give up your life for her?”, Colin asked.
“You know the answer to that. I can’t let her live this way and serve you.”, Angel growled back.
“Well, we’ll see.”, Colin laughed.
Buffy lunged at Angel. And she was staked. By his hand. She fell to the ground. Angel got up and went to her.
“Buffy?”, Angel asked.
But when he touched her, she turned to dust. He fell to the ground and cried. She was gone. He would never see her again. He had made it happen. He let her go home, he told her to leave. He had to feed alone. He did it. He killed her. He turned around and looked at Colin.
“I can’t believe you did it.”, Colin said.
“Well I did. Now I have to do it again.”, Angel said.
Colin backed away from him instantly thinking that Angel was going to kill him. But Angel picked up Buffy’s stake that lay next to the pile of dust that she now was. He held it in the air. And plunged it into his heart. And he doubled on the groung in pain. Then he turned to dust with Colin looking on. He had won. They were both dead, just like he had planned. He laughed out loud.
“Well, I wonder what I’ll do tomorrow.”, He walked off and started laughing evily.
Evil has it’s deceit.
Suddenly a hand plunged a stake into his heart. He turned to dust. But who was it?
On the ground next to a pile of dust were two necklaces. Both crosses. Back from the dead to kill evil. True Love indeed has it’s rewards.
