Beauty and Body

Welcome to Beauty and Body, hosted by Sunset Beach's resident lady of class, Olivia Richards. Ask her questions on puberty to fashion advice. She's got your answers!

Q. I'm in high school and couple of pounds overweight. I'd really like to loose that weight before prom. Can you recommend any simple ways to go on diet without having to spend money or go to a the gym?

A. The most simple way to loose weight is to cut down on your meal servings. You're probably thinking, "Right, like that's going to work." But let me explain it.
Your appetite is like a balloon. The more you eat one day, the larger your balloon (appetite) will get. At the next meal, you will feel the need to eat more since your balloon has gotten bigger. So you eat more, gaining more weight.
The trick is, eat as less as possible. Leave left overs. You'll probably feel a little bit hungry, for the first couple of times you do this. But if you tough it out and stick to your guns, your appetite will shrink. So when the next meal comes, you won't have to eat as much, but you'll still be fulfilling hunger.
I strongly suggest you try this, and of course simple excercises like breat walking and jogging never hurted.
