Liandra's General Personality ( Egypt and Modern World ) :

Like the highly favoured , sweet smelling Jasmine plant , Liandra has always been an elegant lady , joy and beauty blooming around her . From an early age , Liandra had an interest in the unknown and an adventurous spirit , and her childhood dream was to travel . Liandra is interested in the modern world , and unlike Rath , is not embarrased to admit her fascination in technology . Slow to make a promise but quick to keep one , Liandra is careful about those she befriends . Even though Liandra grew up on a farm , she is a true lady , an elegant to an art . Liandra practices many types of magic , but she uses the magic of Light most of the time . Liandra is confidant , and would sacrifice herself for a friend .

However , Liandra has a darkside . After her cousin Chontra ( supposedly ) died , hatred and pain grew within Liandra . She didn't release her feelings , however , but the pain and suffering turned into her darkside , hiding deep within Liandra's heart . Liandra's darkside has never been released , but Liandra's greatest fear is that one day it will surface , to wreak havoc in the modern world .

Liandra believes that things aren't always what they seem . She has a deep understanding of life , and people . Liandra is a mediator , and a compassionate soul . She dislikes fighting , even in the service of Prince Rapses . Coming from Egypt , Liandra is rather superstitious . She belives in the Gods and Goddess' , and carries many amulet's around . She often prays to Hathor , her patron , before for battle for courage and strength .

Liandra's Appearance :

Height : 5 ft 10

Weight :129 lbs

Liandra was a very beautiful , elegant and graceful lady . She had a long , henna ( light brown ) colored plait and radiant lilac eyes . She had a slight tan . Liandra usually dressed in lilac : her favourite color . Yidra - her pet lizard - was always perched on her shoulder . Liandra's supernatural grace , elegance and beauty - along with her amazing magical skills - made her a deeply mysterious and enchanting person .

Yidra's Appearance : Yidra was a thin , sleek lizard . She had forest green scales , that shimmered in sunlight . Her actual body was 14 cm long , but her long tail added on another 15 cm . She had sharp fangs , although she rarely bit anyone . If she did , they would normally go delerious or faint .

Childhood and Teenaged years :

Liandra was born on a wine \ grape farm outside Dendera , to Jellana and Bentic . Jellana was an educated Jeweller with a treasury of magical knowledge , while Bentic was a farmer with some knowledge in jewelling . Jellana had only one sister , called Kilandra . Kilandra was also experienced in the ways of magic . The farm had originally belonged to Jellana and Kilandra's parents , so the two sisters inherited it after the passing of their parents . Thus Kilandra and her husband ( Ajuni ) and Jellana and her husband ( Bentic ) shared the estate . On the same year that Jellana gave birth to Liandra , Kilandra gave birth to Chontra . Liandra and Chontra grew up together in the vineyards like sisters . One year , Liandra managed to tame a small green lizard , which she named Yidra . Liandra and Chontra were said to be as different as day and night , but they acted just like sisters .

They were both taught magic by their mothers , and could perform a few amazing spells . A few of the most poweful spells could only be performed when Liandra and Chontra held hands , which puzzled their mothers . At that stage , Chontra had not yet turned to the dark side . Liandra and Chontra each wore an idenical beautiful Amethyst amulet , with a lotus inscribed on it . The amulets had previously belonged to their mothers . Jellana and Kilandra educated Liandra and Chontra in the art of letter writing and reading .

All went well on the farm , with the vineyards yeilding more than enough harvest to keep the estate valuable . One year however , when both Liandra and Chontra were 15 , Kilandra and Ajuni decided to travel to Memphis . They wished to appear before the Pharoh , and seek advice on some problems they had been having on the farm . Ajuni was sure that they would be back on the farm before the new moon . On the day they were to leave , Kilandra and Jellana assured eachother that they would meet again soon , before the next Spring moon . Chontra and Liandra swore - under oath - that no matter what happened , they would be re united again . And so Kilandra's family set out for Memphis . They travelled for many days and nights , but just outside Memphis , disaster struck .

It was daytime , and there was a terrible sand storm , typical of Egypt . Still journeying though the desert , it caused Ajuni , Kilandra and Chontra to lose all direction . Within no time at all , the strong , destructive sand had separeted Kilandra and Ajuni from Chontra . Blinded by the sand , Chontra called for her parents and struggled onwards . Her parents , miles off , had no idea where she was . Unfortunatly , a sand dune was blown over during the storm , and Kilandra and Ajuni had been travelling in it's path . They perished beneath the wild desert sand , while Chontra far away struggled to move through the storm . She survived the storm , as it only continued for half a day .

After the storm died down , she manged to travel to Memphis . By the time she reached the outskirts of the city , she was about to collapse from hunger and exhaustion . Luckily , a group of thieves took her in , giving her water and food . After the death of her parents , Chontra had died inside of herself . She didn't completely lose sanity , but she developed a dark and disturbed side .

Soon after Chontra's family had never returned to the farm , Bentic ( Liandra's father ) decided to go looking for them . He took the same route that his brother in law ( Ajuni ) had taken . Bentic found the bodies of Kilandra and Ajuni , preseved perfectly by the desert sands . He buried Kilandra's and Bentic's bodies in a shallow grave beneath the desert sands , as he couldn't carry them all the way back to the farm .

After arriving back at the farm , he told Jellana and Liandra about his findings . Liandra sadly knew that although Chontra's body had not been found , there was no way for a mere teenager to journey through the desert alone . Liandra was grieved by her cousin's ( apparant ) passing . She continued to wear her amulet , as it reminded her of Chontra .

Two years later , in Memphis , Chontra decided to leave the gang for a while . On her own , Chontra grew hungry for power . Chontra eventually found a suitable tutor to enhance her magical abilities : Rath . She was gradually falling in love with him , as was he wih her. When Rath was summoned to become the Royal Scribe , Chontra was heart sore . She vowed vengance on him , before rejoining the gang .

Over the years , Liandra developed an interest in Jewellery . Her father tutored her in ways of goldsmithing and jewell cutting , and by the age of 18 Liandra was known as the finest jeweller in Dendera . She made a splendid necklace of blue lapiz - lauzi for a Noble woman that had visited the farm one year . Years later , at a feast in the Royal Palace in Memphis , the Noble woman was wearing the necklace . The Queen was curious to know who had crafted it , as it was the finest neclace she had ever laid her eyes upon . The Noble woman told the Queen that the creator was a young lady called Liandra . The Queen asked a group of travelling merchants to send a letter ( written of course by Rath , the educated Royal Scribe ) to Liandra , requesting her presence before the Royals . It explained that if the Queen was impressed by Liandra's work , she may be given a position as Royal Jeweller .

Liandra's life at the palace :

Liandra was twenty four years old when the letter reached her . After reciving it , she travelled to the palace . When she arrived , she displayed a sample of her work to the Queen , a glorious feldspar amulet such as the Royals had never before seen . The Pharoh appointed her as the Royal Jeweller . Liandra's duties included making all of the Royal Jewellery , which meant Necklaces , Earings , Bracelets and many other adornments . Liandra's works were works of great beauty .

Liandra cut all the gems herself , although the gold was smelted by others . She resided in the Royal Jewelling Chambers , where she did all of her jewelling . Her bedroom was attatched to the chambers . She fitted into the palace quite well , gracing the Royal passages with her elegance and beauty .

During the first week of Liandra's palace life , she met Rath in the Royal Coutyard , while he was tutoring Rapses in the art of paper making . Rath fell in love with her , but his sense of pride wouldn't allow him to admit it . Liandra was of course still wearing the amulet that Chontra had a copy of ( she wore it always ) , so Rath recognised the amulet that Liandra wore . He told Liandra that he had met Chontra ( carefully discluding all informatiomn of his love affair ), and Liandra revealed that Chontra was her cousin .

She was unsure whether she should look for Chontra in Memphis or to forget about her cousin , but after a few weeks of wondering , she finally ventured into the crowded city seeking Chontra . Rath saw her leaving the palace , but didn't follow her as he was sure that she could look after herself . However , he had thought wrong , because in the city Liandra was to meet her death . After 3 days in the city , Liandra found Chontra by word of mouth . She was living in a small house , with her fellow thieves .

Liandra was overjoyed when she saw her cousin again , she had mistaken Chontra for dead . Chontra asked Liandra how she had known she still lived to come looking for her , and Liandra reluctently mentioned that Rath had met her . Chontra was aware that Rath had not filled Liandra in on the complications about their relationship , so Chontra filled Liandra in on the matter . Liandra was of course confused , and she knew that she'd have to choose between Rath and Chontra .

Liandra sadly knew that family came first , and she chose Chontra's company . Yet however family orientated she was , she still wanted to say goodbye to Rath . She crept back to the palace , and bid him fare well by moonlight .

At first , he tried to stop her from going , but finally accepted it . Liandra returned to Chontra , and they planned to leave for Dendera . However , Chontra's gang had uses for her , and murdered Liandra , hoping that Chontra would stay . They poisoned Liandra's last meal at the house , so that when Liandra and Chontra were about to depart , Liandra dropped dying to the floor and fell unconcious .

At the same time , Rath was dreaming that Liandra was dying . This was of course the result of Liandra visiting him in the dream world , to tell him not to fear when he discovered that she had died . The next morning , he woke up screaming .

Chontra didn't suspect that her gang members had killed her cousin . She wanted Liandra to travel to the after life with a beautifully mummified body , so she dropped Liandra's body before the palace . As she had planned , the Royal Embalmers recognised her , and gave her a proper mummification due to her status in the Royal Court .

Rath was horrified when he found that Liandra had in fact died , and he blamed himself for letting her go into the city seeking Chontra . He organised for Liandra's body to be buried outside Memphis , and Chontra was aware of Liandra's burial place .( This is how she identified the body in the next section . )

Liandra's Afterlife :

1998 , a group of archaelogists found an ancient grave outside Memphis . This was of course the grave of Liandra . Everything ( Liandra , the mummy case , her possetions and Yidra ) were shipped around on exhibet . When Rath heard that the exhibet was in San Fransisco , he was eager to see if the mummy was Liandra . He and the other Gaurdians watched the shipping van park outside the museam ( next to the Sphinx ) .

The gaurdians were greatly surprised when Chontra hijacked the van outside the museam . Chontra had also heard of the exhibet , and was determined that it contained Liandra . She wanted to summon Liandra , as she still cared for her cousin .

The gaurdians planned to stop Chontra straight away , but decided to wait for Chontra to summon Liandra first . After Liandra had been summoned , the gaurdians came out of hiding to confront the cousins . Liandra was again given a choice : Alliance with the gaurdians , or alliance with Chontra .

Determined not to make the wrong choice again , she joined the gaurdians . Chontra was furious , and swore to take revenge on Liandra . She left the park feeling totally betrayed .

Liandra travelled back to the Sphinx with the Gaurdians , and became a full fledged Gaurdian to Rapses .

On a casual day out in public , Liandra often wears a forest green sleevless top with a long , black skirt . Over this , she wears a log sleeved , white , knee low coat . Liandra wears forest green boots , and to top of her outfit , she slings a black strap bag over her shoulder . :: Picture Coming Soon ::

Relationships :

Ja-kal : In Egypt , although Liandra and Ja-kal were not the best of friends , there was no bitterness between the two . In the modern world , Liandra would like to be friends with Ja-kal , but he doesn't trust her due to her relation to Chontra , so they occasionally fight . However , Liandra accepts him as the leader anyway , and follows orders as would be expected of her . She's tried to earn Ja-kal's trust several times , but all attempts at friendship have failed . Rath often sticks up for Liandra when Ja-kal fights with her , and Ja-kal seems to be the one person on the team that really makes Liandra feel unwelcome . Despite this , Liandra still admits that Ja-kal has certain leadership qualities that make him a suitable leader . It's her hope that he'll eventually begin treating her like a member of the team , but until that day , she'll have to keep on trying to win his trust .

Armon : Liandra is good friends with the big guy , and thinks that he is possibly the most friendly and honest person she's ever known . She feels that neither Ja-kal nor Rath ( In particular ) give Armon credit for his service to Rapses . After all , he did lose his arm protecting the Prince , right ? Liandra believes that even though he might not be very quick of learning , he makes it up in his strength . Liandra was rather upset with him , however , when he used some ancient seeds ( that she had collected from the museam for magical purpouses ) to flavour a Beefy Burger , saying that it reminded him of his mother's cooking .

Rath : Ever since Liandra met Rath , she's been deeply in love with him , unaware that he feels the same way about her . In Egypt , Liandra was only slightly aware of Rath's feelings towards her , but his sense of pride wouldn't allow him to admit his love . The two seem to have an unspoken understanding of eachother , and when fighting side by side in battle they always seem to somehow know eachothers secret plans without discussing them first . Liandra has tried to make Rath admit his interest in technology , but her attempts have failed and he still won't go anywhere near a computer . Rath still thinks that Yidra , Liandra's pet lizard , is nothing more than a scaly nuisance , and should never have been summoned in the first place . Rath has learned to accept the fact that Liandra is closely related to Chontra , and he was secretly amazed when she chose to become a Gaurdian instead of staying with her cousin .

Nefertina : Liandra and Nefertina get along very well , despite their contrasting personalities . Liandra is a bit more reserved than Neffy , and doesn't enjoy going to dance clubs as much as the chartioteer . Nef sometimes manages to drag Liandra to the mall , to do some clothes shopping . She occasionally nicknames Liandra ' Li ' , which Liandra doesn't mind too much . She does , however , mind Neferina's driving , but lives with it anyway . Liandra admires the fact that Nefertina was so determined to become Royal Charioteer that she disguised herself as a man , but is feels it is truly ironic that it was that same determination - and loyalty to her position as a Gaurdain - that caused her death .

Rapses / Presley Carnovan : In Egypt , Liandra was kinda like a big sister to Rapses . She tutored him in the art of jewellery making , and sometimes even taught him a few magic tricks ( much to Rath's dismay , and secret admiration ) . Rapses constantly got annoyed with Liandra when she made him wear huge magic amulets , eg abdju fish , to protect him . He thought she was way too paranoid in this way , but he got on fine with her . In the modern world , Liandra tries as hard as possible to protect Presley from danger . She sometimes calls Presley Rapses mistakedly . Rather curious about his love life , she's hoping that Presley will finally notice Elaine , instead of drooling over Cynthia-Lu the whole time .

Chontra : Liandra and Chontra are cousins . In Egypt , they were the best of friends grew up together . ( See top of bio ) . Liandra lost contact with Chontra at the age of 15 , when she ' supposedly died ' . She was amazed when she discovered years later during her stay at the palace that Chontra was still alive . In the modern world , Liandra the gaurdians over Chontra , making Chontra her enemy . Liandra often fights her during battle , and is the perfect opponent for Chontra . Unfortunatly , Chontra now dedicates her time to terrorising Liandra . Liandra and Chontra both use the same kind of magic ( the magic of Light ) . Liandra knows that deep inside of Chontra , lies bleeding soul begging for compassion . However , until the day comes that Chontra regains sanity , Liandra will continue to fight her in battle .

Tiye and Khan : Liandra feels that it is unfortunate that the twins are on the dark side . She knows that Tiye and Khan possess extreme magical abilities , so it's her hope that they will regain sanity one day . She's seen the damage that they've caused , and fears that they may suceed in their quest of hatred and insanity . Liandra knows that Tiye secretly loves Ja-kal , and is hopeful that this will cause the end of her crazy rampage . Out of all her enemies , Liandra is best suited for fighting Tiye and Khan , so she'll normally go straight for them . Liandra is fascinated by the twins' dark powers , and is curious about their lives before death .

Mira : She gets on well with the Sybil . Liandra has many secrets , and she suspects that Mira may be secretly trying to uncover some of them out of interest's sake . She occasionally fights by Mira's side , and the two have been known to be a lethal team in battle . Liandra is curious about Mira abilities to interpret dreams , and she often consults Mira's opinion on the meaning of certain dreams - and 's nightmares - that she's had . Liandra met Mira a few times around the palace , and found her good company . She finds Ja-kal's crush on Mira rather humorous , and hopes that it may serve to lighten him up a little .

Rathera : Liandra has mixed feelings about this Gaurdian . She never met Rathera in Egypt , so she met Rathera for the first time in the Afterlife . At first , Liandra was slightly distrusful of her , because of Rathera's ongoing relationship with Scarab . However , Liandra now feels compassion and sympathy for her . She knows what it is like to be torn between the opposing sides of good and evil , because Chontra is Liandra's cousin . Liandra feels that Rathera should be allowed to continue her relationship with Scarab , and wishes that the other Gaurdians should at least try to understand Rathera's case .

Satyre : Due to Liandra's brief stay , she only met Satyre a few times around the palace in Egypt . . She has accepted that Satyre has now turned to the darkside , but she believes that one day , Satyre will forgive the other Gaurdians for allowing her unjust death . Never the less , Liandra still fights Satyre in battle from time to time . She knows that Satyre is the most experienced of all the Gaurdians in the way of Maths and modern day inventions like computers , so unfortunatly , Scarab has a powerful allay . Liandra would like to learn more about Satyre's friendship with Rath , but can't get Rath to talk about it .
