(The gang are outside of a building)
Emily: I think this is a bad idea.
Nikolas: Why? You said the photographer--what was his name?
Emily, Lizzie Lucky: Tom. (Lucky bends down and starts picking the lock)
Nikolas: Tom. You said Tom was away on assignment, right?
Lizzie: Or do you think the shoot may be canceled because of the weather?
Emily: No, they'll never cancel these things. I mean, everyone's in too much demand to reschedule. I just think it's a bad idea because it's against the law and I feel like I'm turning you guys into criminals and it's all because of me.
Nikolas: Oh, not us. Only Lucky.
Lizzie: Hey, you were the first one to use the words 'break in.'
Emily: I probably should have just told Tom what we needed.
Lucky: Wouldn't have worked.
Emily: Why not? (Lucky gets the door opened and Emily walks inside)You guys, stay here. Stay here.(when she sees no one is around) Come on, come on. It's fine. (Everyone walks inside)
Lizzie: Hey, where does Tom keep the contact sheets?
Emily: Top drawer, I think.
Lucky: How are they labeled?
Emily: When he showed them to me, they were in a manila folder and it just--it said 'September' on it.
Lucky: Ok. (Everyone starts looking around)
Nikolas: (Coming over to Emily) Hey, look, I know that you might think that you're betraying--
Emily: You don't think I should trust Tom?
Nikolas: No, no, no, no, no. I do. I do. I mean, he gave you your start in modeling, right, and he encouraged you. And Brenda, she trusted him and nothing like this ever happened to her. But if he knew one of his photos that he took of your face was on some other girl's naked body, he'd flip out, right? I mean, he'd call lawyers and police and everybody. I mean, that's why you came to me, because you said you didn't want that.
Emily: Yeah, you're right.
Nikolas: Right, right. But, look--all we're going to do--all we're going to do is take a look at the contact sheets, all right? And if the shot of you the blackmailer used isn't there, then we'll know that it was taken while the film was being processed, which means it could be somebody who works for Tom or somebody who works in his lab, right? But if it is there, all we'll do is we'll see how it's indexed and we'll look up everybody--everybody who has a print, ok?
Lizzie: Guys, I think this is it. (She hands Emily a folder)
Emily: Yeah, that's the one. Here. Excuse me. (She hands the folder back to Lizzie)
Lizzie: How many rolls of film did tom take of you?
Emily: 12? 15?
Lizzie: That's how many hundreds of frames?
Nikolas: Yeah. Every sheet looks the same.
Lizzie: We're going to go blind.
Emily: You know what? There's this thing that kind of looks like a magnifying glass. I forgot what it's called. A loupe. A loupe. You know? It looks like a really small--small part of like--
Lucky: (Walking up behind them with two loupes held up to his eyes) What are you guys looking for?
Emily: Ok, ha-ha. Are these the only two you found? (Taking them from him)
Lucky: Give me one back.
Emily: No way. Forget about it. You think that I'm going to give you guys two of these so you can look at 300 of my boring pictures and look at my boring face, forget about it. Liz and I can do that. (She hands a loupe to Lizzie)
Nikolas: You're right. (The boys go off in different directions to 'play')
Lizzie: Let's see. Here. Oh, gee. (Lucky turns on the radio)
Emily: Lucky.
Lucky: No one's going to hear it over the rain and the thunder. (Nikolas is behind the girls, messing with some props while Lucky looks over the girls' shoulders at the pictures)
Lizzie and Emily: Uh-uh.
Lizzie: Come on, get out of here. (She pushes Lucky away and he wanders past Nikolas, who is playing with an umbrella, and starts messing with the lighting fixtures)
Emily: (Not turning around) You guys, don't touch anything, ok?
Lucky: We're not.
Nikolas: Yeah. (They look at the girls and then go back to messing with things. Nikolas starts to walk over to Lucky and his foot knocks over a little wooden stand. The girls turn around and look, and both boys point at the other in blame. The girls sigh, look at each other, and go back to looking at the pictures)
Emily: (The girls are still looking at the pictures) Is this it? (Both boys move in behind them)
Lizzie: No, it's not even close. Don't you know what you look like?
Emily: All right, you know what? I give up. I am not going to look at one more picture because, if I do, my eyes are going to go cross-eyed. You guys can make fun of my chipmunk cheeks. Here. (She hands her loupe to Lucky)
Nikolas: All right, second shift.
Lizzie: Ok, here. (Handing her loupe to Nikolas)
Nikolas: Second shift.
Lucky: (Looking at the pictures) Hey... (Everyone looks at him)
Nikolas: What?
Lucky: Look at the nose on her. (Nikolas and Lucky start laughing)
Lizzie: We do not have to stay here and listen to this.
Emily: Yes, we do. (She tries to grab the sheet away from Nikolas, but he pulls it away)
Lizzie: No, we don't. (Dragging Emily over to some dresses hanging) Oh, wow. (Looking at a dress)
Emily: Oh. I know what you mean. You know, they spend a fortune on setting these things up.
Lizzie: You know what this reminds me of? Nikolas' uncle when he had that masked ball.
Emily: Were you there?
Lizzie: Not officially, but Lucky took me to Spoon Island and we looked through the window.
Emily: Didn't Nikolas look so good that night?
Lizzie: (Nodding) But don't tell Lucky I said so.
Emily: Ok. You know, I was thinking--this dress would look really gorgeous on you.
Lizzie: Emily, no. Emily.
Lizzie: (With the dress on) You know, I still feel silly. We didn't come here to play dress-up.
Emily: Yeah, but we did come here to look at pictures of me playing dress-up, and since we don't have the loupes and the guys do, I don't see any problem with it. Unless it really does make you uncomfortable. Because if it does, we can stop.
Lizzie: Uncomfortable? You mean beyond the fact that we could get arrested any minute from now?
Emily: You know, your style's changed. I mean, you used to dress hot, like low-cut shirts and shorter skirts, you know. Now it just seems like--
Lizzie: Now you can barely see a square inch of me. I know. Maybe I went too far the other way. But I think I'm getting better now. (They hug)
Emily: You know, if somebody was looking at us in a mirror, I'm sure that they would never guess in a million years that I was the model.
Nikolas: (Coming around the corner) I'm telling you, it's not the one.
Lucky: Well, I think it is. I want Emily to see the photograph the blackmailer sent--(Catching site of Lizzie, he stops cold)
Emily: Yeah, I got it. It's right here.
Nikolas: Ahem. Yeah. Here. (Lucky continues to stare at Lizzie)
Nikolas: See, I told you this wasn't one here. Look for yourself. (He tries to hand the pictures to Lucky, but he walks on past, still staring at Lizzie)
Lucky: No, I'll take your word for it.
Lizzie: Is it our turn to take those?
Lucky: No.
Lizzie: Well, then will you please go away, because I feel like a little girl who just got caught serving tea to her dolls. (Nikolas, who is watching them, smiles and then looks back at the pictures)
Lucky: You don't look like one.
Lizzie: I've got to get out of this thing. (walking around Lucky)
Lucky: Why? Says who?
Nikolas: Yeah, it looks like it was made for you.
Emily: (Turning on the radio) Hey. The music went something like this the night of your uncle's Bacchanalia, right?
Nikolas: Mm-hmm.
Emily: Hey, do you know that Lucky and Liz were there that night?
Nikolas: Really? (Lizzie looks uncomfortable and turns away)
Emily: Did I say something wrong?
Lucky: Outside, in the garden. I think we snuck food out there, too.
Nikolas: Sounds like fun.
Emily: Oh, well, Nikolas, why don't you show Liz some of those dance moves that you showed me that night. You're a good dancer.
Lizzie: Lucky's a good dancer, too. I didn't say we never danced at all.
Emily: Nikolas was trained by a dance master.
Nikolas: Oh. Yeah. I was taught at a very early age not to walk on people's clothes and feet. (Everyone laughs)
Lucky: Go ahead. Show her. I'm a little rusty on my 16th-Century dances, you know.
Nikolas: Right. All right. (He motions her over) Give me your hand. All right, just follow me, all right? Ready?
Lizzie: Ok. (They begin to dance)
Nikolas: Now spin, now spin, now spin. Here you go. Come back. (The continue to dance, with Lucky looking on)
Lizzie: Ready? Ok.(they dance for a few minutes) I feel like someone's taking my picture.
Lucky: Somebody is.
Emily: (Watching Lucky and Lizzie dance) Don't they look perfect together?
Nikolas: (Looking at them and then at Emily) Well, not as good as we were. (He goes back to the pictures and Emily smiles, watching him)
Lucky: Think this place will turn into a pumpkin when the music stops?
Lizzie: I can barely feel the 84 pins Emily used to make this thing fit me.
Nikolas: (Getting up to move to better lighting) Emily, come here. She walks over and he points to a picture) That.
