Nicole's Spring Story
"Spring-Cleaning"

Dawson Leery was in his bedroom when Joey came in through the window. " Hey Dawson," she said. " What are you up to?" " Jo! I haven't seen you for a couple of days…how are you doing??" " Good Dawson, but you still didn't explain to me what you were doing…"

Dawson looked around his room and saw what he had done. He had taken all his posters down, and everything was in chaos. What was he doing? Oh yeah… " I'm just 'Spring Cleaning," Joey."

" Oh well. It looked to me like there was a mid-life crisis going on with you, Dawson. I mean, why on earth would you take down you're posters; you most prized possessions. It just doesn't make sense."

" Joey, you're looking at a new and improved Dawson. I am merely changing things around.." He had lied to her. He was trying to start off fresh and change his ways because he felt that is what he needed in his life. Maybe she was right about that mid-life crisis thing. Maybe he was just longing for something interesting in his life to occur. Yeah, right...like that would ever happen. There was probably that underlying reason that everything in his room reminded him of Joey, but he just shrugged that off.

" Ok Dawson. Well, I better go. I promised Pacey that I'd stop by."

" What? Since when do you two hang out?"

" Since you and I broke up Dawson. It's not that big of a deal. We were friends in elementary school.."

" Yeah, but…….."

" Goodbye, Dawson." Joey went out the way she came and realized why it was she didn't talk to Dawson as much. He was so immature about the whole " break-up" and protective too. He needed to move on. * * * * * *

Pacey opened the door to find Joey at his doorstep. He wasn't expecting her, but, at the same time, it didn't shock him anymore when she did stop by. They were becoming good friends and it was possible even a little bit more that friends. But neither of them were pushing it.

" Hey Jo!" He gave her a friendly hug and she walked into the living room.

" What brings you to my…slovenly house?"

" Well, Pace. I just wanted you company. What are you doing?"

" I was going to take a dip in the pool due to the fact that the weather is SO nice this weekend. You wanna join me?"

" Yeah, I'd like that." * * * * * *

The two friends were in the pool now. Joey was wearing a navy blue bikini that she was conveniently wearing under her clothes. (She had been hoping that Pacey would want to take a dip in his pool). He was wearing his Hawaiian board shorts and Joey noted that he did look quite good in them. After swimming around for a while, playing dumb pool games, and diving off the board, Joey brought up Dawson's change in personality.

" He really was taking down his Speilberg posters? I can't believe it," Pacey exclaimed. " Yeah, it was almost as if I was in the twilight zone, except he was trying to cover up what he was doing by saying he was ' Spring Cleaning.' " " Weird. When did the concept of ' Spring Cleaning' get invented anyway? There are so many more things I would rather be doing than that. Like, for example, swimming here with my great friend, Joey Potter."

" Yeah, Thanks Pacey! Now were classified as ' great' friends. When does that transition occur?"

" In spring"

" Huh?"

" When the birds are chirping and the sky is blue. When were lounging in my pool instead of ' Spring Cleaning.' If you know what I mean." " Yeah, I understand, Pacey. So were great friends because were in a pool and it's spring??"

" Exactly." *And the fact that you look great in that bikini* thought Pacey.

" It all makes sense now," she told him, sarcastically. " But Pacey, isn't spring the time for ' blossoming love?' "

" Didn't you know that true love starts after people are great friends. Love can occur up until the end of spring. We..i mean there's time..yeah" * I blew it*

" Are you saying there's more to us than friends, Pacey?" she had a devilish grin on her face because they both had spoken of their infatuation of each other and had decided to give it time. But every time it came up, which was not often, Pacey became very flustered.

" Joey, I am not going to melt with your teasing!" He replied, nonconvincingly.

" Was that an answer?" She asked and smiled.

" Fine..Joey. Yeah, there's that something. We already talked of it and we came to the conclusion that-"

" Are you sure it was final?"

" Well, no…" He was growing more and more embarrassed of answering her questions. She was just fucking with his mind.

" Then, can't we try it out??"

" For real, Jo??"

" NO!!" She laughed and dunked him in the water. She tried to keep him down for a long time, but he was too strong for her. He came up, needing air. He then began to seek revenge. He grabbed he arms and tried to toss he to the other side of the pool. But she wouldn't let him because he held on tight by her legs, which were now wrapped around his waste.

" Damnit!" he screamed.

" You lost!! " She cheered out in victory.

" Oh yeah?? Looks like I won." And without reply, he planted a soft kiss on her lips. She was the one who then replied by kissing him passionately back. they finally broke apart.

" This was inevitable, huh Pacey?"

" It sure was Jo. Happy Spring!" He smiled sincerely.

" You're a really great friend, Pacey."

" Thanks." And they resumed to their kissing. It turned out that this spring love had blossomed for the two friends. And as for Dawson, he would soon get over it. His ' Spring Cleaning' was something he needed..well along with a new girl friend. But that's another Story.
