KEVIN'S STRONG WORDS:
Hercules continures his journeys this week in the strangely titled episode
My Fair CupCake.
But it's not as unusual as the hobby of Kevin Sorbo the
man behind Hercules, he's a poet!
"I've only shown it to two or three people!" he says.
"I think some of it is pretty good. A lot of art comes from pain. Most of
the writing was done in my 20's and they were very confusing years in terms
of relationships."
But don't expect Hercules to wimp out with verses rather
than action.
"Hercules is the strongest man alive" Kevin says. "I've had people
ask me who would win a fight against Xena and nothing against Xena but she's a mortal.
But I would say that Lucy (Lawless who plays Xena) could probably beat me up easily"
FAMILY MATTERS
Kevin Sorbo A.K.A. Hercules is desperate for a baby. ALthough he's only been married
for seven months. Kevin has confirmed he and his wife Sam (together in pic) are trying
for a baby in the best way they know how.
"We are not worrying about it in the terms of
...ah... in ...you know!" he said coyly during a flying stopover in Sydney recently.
"We're not.......we ....there's no protection going on, if you know what I mean! And if
it happens, i hope it is sooner than later, I'm really trying you know I really am!"
A child should top off an otherwise perfect life. Kevin Sorbo loves his work, his wife and
his family but he is the first to point out it didn't come easily. "I'm what you would
call a 10 year overnight success" he says "I've seen the dark side of this business. For
years I had a lot of doors slammed in my face but I refused to give up. I believe it would
happen and I would make it!"
A spokesperson for Network 10 which screens New Zealand made shows such as Hercules staring Kevin Sorbo (above) says a High Court ruling to treat N.Z. made shows as local content will have no impact on prime time Australian TV. "While we recognise the ruling we don't think it is significant" she says.
