Our Future

Liz walked up to Luckys apartment carrying food she had brought for Lucky from Kelly's diner. Her shift had just finished and she had promised she'd stop by afterward to see Lucky, he had told her he hed some pretty important news.

She rapped lightly on the door balancing the paper bag in her hands.

Lucky opened the door within seconds. His face lit up with joy at the sight of her. "Hi," he said softly, kssing her lightly on the lips.

"Hi yourself," Liz replied handing him the bag from Kelly's, "I brought you some supper, hope you like chili."

"Sounds great," Lucky said as Liz tossed her coat on the bed,"I hadn't even thought about food yet."

"What would you do without me?" Liz grinned, wrapping her arms around Lucky's neck.

"I hope I never have to find out," Lucky murmered and leaned down to kiss her.

Liz ceased thinking as Lucky's lips touched hers. She leaned agianst him and deepend the kiss. His effect was still amazing. She didn't think she would ever tire of kissing him.

THe kiss ended and they stared into each others eyes. Liz pulled away first and flopped down on the bed. Lucky sat down beside her.

"So Lucky, what's this important news you have? I hope it's good news."

Lucky looked somber,"Well that's what I want to find out."

"Huh?" Liz was confused.

"Liz," Lucky began, "I got a call from Ned this morning. He had a proposal. He wants me to sign a contract with L&B records adn record an album."

"THat's great Lucky!" Liz exclaimed. "YOu must be thrilled. THis is great news for you!"

She was about to go on when Lucky interrupted, "Liz wait, there is something else you should know. They want me to move to New York. That is where the main recording studio will be situated."

Liz felt as if somebody had punched her in the gut. What was he saying? How could she live without him? He was her one and only love, her heart was being teared apart. He couldn't move, what would happen. Her mouth opened and shut.

"Liz, I'm sorry," Lucky apologized when he saw the hurt look on her face,"I shouldn't have announced it like that, I haven't accepted yet. I told Ned I would have to think it over. I need you to decide something."

"What are you asking me to do? I can't make that kind of choice. I couldn't stand you leaving but I couldn't condemn you to stay in Port Charles when you want to be elsewhere." her voice was strained. Tears ran down her cheeks as she thought of life without Lucky.

"Liz, I could never leave you. That's why I haven't accepted yet, I wanted to ask you to come to New York with me."

Liz stared in shock as he continued,"NOw hear me out before you decide. There is a great art school in New York you can attend. We can share an apartment, two bedroom of course. Tis would be a great opprotunity. I understand if you don't want o leave Port Charles and I am perfectly happy to stay too. I'll accept your decision no matter what it is. I love you Liz and I can't imagine living my life with anyone else. What do you want to do?"

Liz was flabbergasted. Move to New York? With Lucky? It all seemed surreal. She knew she only had one choice.

"Let's do it," she grinned leaning over and kissing Lucky.

"You're sure?" he looked at her.

When she nodded he let out a whoop of joy and grabbed her in his arms. He swung her around the little apartment.

"What about your grandmother?" Lucky finally asked.

"She may not be thrilled at first but she'll come around. Even if she disapproves I'll still come. Nobody, not even Grams, will stop me from doing this." Liz exclaimed joyfully.
