Chapter Twenty-Seven

The sun rose the next morning filling the apartment with light. The golden sunlight spilled over Lucky and Liz who lay asleep in the bed. There arms were around each other, Liz's head rested on Lucky's chest.

The alarm next to the bed started to buzz loudly. With a muffled curse Lucky slammed the snooze button. He glnanced over at Liz. The alarm hadn't wakened her. She wore a peaceful expression on her face, a slight smile played on her lips. He brushed a lock of hair from her face, rememberig the previous evening.

He was incredibly lucky to have found someone as wonderful as her. She was all he had ever wanted and so much more. It was a miracle Liz was his. There were a million guys who were out there abd would love to be with her. She deserved better than him, but damn, he was happy she was going to be his wife.

Lucky ran his hand lightly over her stomach. Their child was in there, growing. It would be the best of both of them. Lucky knew this would be hard going, but with Liz by his side he could do anything. Their child would never be deprived of anything.

{Authors note: Lucky has taken the high school equvelency exam adn does not go to school. THis makes teh story easier to work out later on.}

Lucky put his head down to Liz's stomach. He was careful not to wake her.

"Hey baby," he whispered softly,"this is your dad talking. You probably don't really understand me now but that's okay."

Liz stirred in her sleep adn Lucky was careful to speak quietly, "You won't be here for a couple of months, but you're already groing there inside your mother. I want you to know, both your mother and I will love you very much. You will always have the security of knowing you were a child created out of love."

"Now, you're not going to be a spoiled child, as much as I'm going to want to spoil you. You're never going to be cheated of what you deserve, you or your mother. You're going to love your grandparents, now there are some people who are going to spoil you rotten. Now, unfortunately your other granparents probably won't be around, but it's not your fault or anybodys except theirs. They're just stubborn."

"Now, life may sometimes be crazy. THat's just the way it is when you're a Spencer, but it's great. Wait till you here all the stories of our family, and soon you'll creating stories of your own."

"Take for example my parents. They've been on the run from mobsters, once my mom was even thought to be dead. They always come back to each other no matter what, even if it takes them awhile. They love each other and their children, they'll love you too."

"Your uncle Nikolas used to be a prince. Technically he's not a Spencer, but he's still your uncle. His father's a bore, but Nik didn't turn out to bad. He has traveled all over the world, I'm sure he'll tell you all about it."

"Now, your auntie Lulu won't be too much older than you, but she's still your aunt. She doesn't remember everything that's happened to her, but she's been through a lot."

"I don't care if you're a boy or a girl, either way you're my child and I'll love you. I wonder who you'll resemble the most. Hopefully for you your mother. She's the most beautiful creature in the world, and I still don't know what she sees in me. Now me, I'm not movie star material, but you could do worse in a father."

THe snooze button time had run out and the alarm began to screech again.

Liz yawned and stretched. Lucky pulled away quickly, not wanting her to catch him talking to the baby that was only an embryo in her.

She smiled adn kissed him softly on the mouth,"Why didn't you wake me? I have to get ready for school."

"You looked so beautiful lying there, I didn't have the heart." Lucky told her.

"Now Mr.Spencer," Liz said,"flattery will get you everywhere."

"Everywhere?" Lucky sadi mischeviously and raised his eyebrow.

"Why Mr.Spencer, such wicked thoughts!" Liz grinned, and tried to look scandalized.

Lucky leaned into kiss her but she ducked under his arm adn rolled off the bed. SHe grabbed her robe from the back of a chair and slipped it on.

"None of that," she scolded,"I don't want to be late for school."

She headed into the bathroom for a shower.

"God forbid you'd be late for school!" Lucky yelled after her.

The only sound he heard was the shower turning on.

He shook his head and lay back on the bed. He should go talk to Jaon adn Sonny today about "running some errands" for them. He knew Bobbie had said bed rest, but with the approaching marriage and baby they needed all the cash they could get.
