Lucky watched Elizabeth stare at him in wide-eyed wonder. AS he reached out a hand to touch her, he was shocked to see her begin to collapse. She fainted.
Before he could catch her she tumbled into the water off teh docks. Without thinking twice, he dove in after her.
THe water was like ice against his skin. He groped around in the darkness of the water, trying to grasp her. His ahdn connected with some fabric, and he grabbed it, dragging her to the surface.
Lucky lifted tehm out of the water. Elizabeth was shivering, but she wasn't awake. He layed her out on the docks.
It was heaven to be able to touch her again. To run his hands over her soft skin. These four long years he ahd been deprived of the pleasure of touching her, and now here he was. This was like heaven.
Lucky knew Liz needed to get to a hospital, she might contract pnuemonia. Unfortunately, there was no way he could get her to GH without being seen. He couldn't risk letting people know he was alive before he got his father to help him deal with Julius.
They would kill Elizabeth if they knew taht she knew he was alive. They could not risk her telling everyone he was alive and spoiling their plans, wahtever they were.
Elizabeth should be safe if they thought she was ignorant to the fact he was alive. Along with the rest of the people ehre in PC. Anyone who knew he was alive would be in grave danger.
AS he ehard people approaching on teh docks, he quickly kissed ELizabeth on her quivering lips and sped off into the night. It killed him to leave ehr like this, but she needed to get to a hospital, adn those people could help her. THe only hope he ahd to hang onto was that they wouold be able to be together again, if all went according to plan.

Nikolas walked up to his house carrying a bag of groceries. It ahd been a long day. Even though their relationship had been over for 3 years, Katherine ahd not taken the news well about Nik's engagement.
He sighed as he stuck the key in the door. He wanted to marry ELizabeth so badly but he still felt guilty for his feelings. She would never be his in the way he wanted her to be.
Nik was startled to find himself being shoved in the door, and hand dovering his mouth, keeping him from crying out.
AS soon as he was in the house, a voice hissed in his ear as he released him, "Don't scream, or we're both dead."
When Nik turned around his attacker was peering out the front window, "I don't think you are being followed. I can't let them find me."
"Who the hell are you?" Nik asked impatiently.
The man at the window turned slowly around. Nik was shocked to find himself staring into the face of his dead little brother.

Elizabeth lay in a hospital bed in General hopsital. She had indded contracted pnuemonia, adn was hooked up to an IV line at this very moment.
Liz kept trying to tell eveyone she ahd seen Lucky, but nobody believed her. Bobbie just stroked her hair and said the pnuemonia must ahve made her delirious. WHen Liz insisted it was before she had fallen in the water, in fact taht was what caused her to faint, Bobbie just looked pityingly at her adn told her she was just dreaming.
Liz lay defeated on the bed. Nobody believed her, but she ahd seen Lucky, she ahd. THere was no mistaking that man on the docks for anyone other than her dead love.
SHe couldn't wait for Nikolas to get ehre. He would believe her, he wouldn't think she was going crazy.

"Lucky," Nik breathed.
Teh man nodded, "In the flesh."
"This can't be," Nik flustered, "You're dead!"
Lucky smiled sadly, "Not exactly."
"But the dental records, teh necklace.." Nik stuttered.
"Dental records...forgeries. Necklace, taken off my body adn placed on another." Lucky explained.
"THis can't be possible," Nik refused to believe it, "I'm just going crazy, that's it."
"No Nikky," Lucky said fusterated, "You're not going crazy. This is me, you'r little half brother."
"But, four years..." Nik didn't know what to say.
Lucky went back to the window to check, "Prisoner in Quebec city. THe man who ahd me just came in for a little business trip in town, and I managed to escape. Here I am."
"Who ahd you?" Nik asked, wondering who would dare to do this.
"I don't know," Lucky said, "He told me to call him Julius, but ti isn't his real name. He has shoulder length hair and a scarred, twisted face. Said he does business with my dad, but I'd never emt him."
Lucky continued, "Which brings me to the first reason I came to you. Where is my family? I stopped by the house but nobody was home. I need to get to my dad, everybody is in danger."
"They are out of town. Your dad had a business meeting in Germany and they left today." Nik explained.
Lucky nodded, 'Damn it. I'll have to go into hiding until they get back. I can't risk everyones lives until I find out how 'Julius'and my dad are connected."
THe phone rang shrilly, interrupting their conversation.
Nik picked it up, said a couple words and hung up. "It's Elizabeth," he explained. "She's been brought inti GH with pnuemonia."
Lucky nodded, "I know."
"How?" Nik was startled.
Lucky sighed, "I was there. She saw me on the docks and fainted, falling into the water. I managed to pull her out, but couldn't risk anything more."
"SHe knows you're alive?"
Lucky shrugged, "Well, seh saw me. But it was it was only a galnce before she fainted."
Nik smiled grimly, "She's going to be thrilled that you're alive."
Lucky shook his ehad, "SHe can't find out Nik."
"Why not?" NIk couldn't see why not.
"Don't you see? If they think she knows where I am they'll torture her into telling them where I am. I can't let that happen."
"COme on Lucky," Nik said in disbelief, "I thought she would be the first eprson you went to. You have to tell her, or let me."
Lucky shook his head, "Maybe later, but not while she's in the hospital. I would bet they have surveillance on ehr room. You have to promise me Nikolas, even if seh tells you she saw me you have to convince her she was seeing things."
"But Lucky..."
Lucky cut him off, "Promise me."
"Fine," Nik sighed.
Lucky said, "Besides, in a way I ahte to do this to you, coming abck and all."
"What are you talking about, I'm so glad you're alive." Nik was incredulous.
Lucky smile grimly, "I know you and Liz are engaged. I'm not going to try and take her from you, I just wanted to get back to PC, to my family."
Nik shook his ehad sadly, "Lucky, it wouldn't be taking ehr away from me. She's never been mine. This marriage is just one of friendship and concern for her baby on her part. She's loved you all along, she never stopped."
Lucky looked surprised, he knew Liz had never dated or anyhting, but that she still felt that strongly for him, after all these years, "But you love her Nik, I don't want to......"
Nik cut him off, "Lucky, it was all one-sided. She would chose you over me in a heartbeat, no question about it. I love her,and you, enough to let you both be happy. Togehter."
Lucky didn't know what to say, "Thanks man."
To cover the embarrassment of this moment he said, "You better get to the hospital to check up on her. I'll stay here, OK? Just find out everything and fill me in when you get back."
Nik nodded and grabbed his jacket. AS he was about to walk out the door, Lucky said, "Nik?"
"YEah?" he turned around.
Lucky walked up to him and hugged him, "It's good to be back."
Nik squeezed back, "I missed you Lucky, I'm so glad you're alive."
They pulled away, embarassed at expressing such emotion. "Hey Nik?" Lucky said, "Be careful ok? I came to you because I know you can take care of yourself, but this guy's a devious bastard. Remember, I'm dead."
Nik nodded, "I'll see you in a little bit."
Lucky sat down on the couch as Nik left. He ran his ahdns through his hair. He ahd come so close, but he and Liz were still so far apart.

Liz smiled as Nik walked into the hospital room. "Hey," he whispered, pulling up a cahir to sit by the bed, "What happened?"
"I fell off the docks when I fainted." she lowered her voice to a whisper, "You'll never guess waht casued me to faint Nikolas. I saw Lucky."
"Liz," Nik sadi,acting for all he was worth, "Lucky's dead. You couldn't ahve seen him."
Liz shook her head, "It was him, I'm positive. I saw him, Nik!"
He saw her laying there and wanted so badly to tell her the truth, "Liz that's impossible, adn you know it. Lucky's dead, and nothing will cahnge that."
Liz's eyes watered, "If you don't mind Nik, I'm really tired. Could you leave please."
"Liz, please," Nik pleaded, "Don't be mad...."
Liz shook her head, "I"m not mad, just tired. I want to sleep, could you please leave."
Nik reached out to touch her, and she jerked away, "Please just leave," she whispered, tears starting to fell.
Nik got up reluctantly. He wanted to tell her he believed her, that Lucky was alive and at his house. He had to go though, if he stayed another minute with ehr sad eyes looking up at him, he'd blurt out the truth.
As Nik left, Liz rolled over. She was tired, that much was true. She scratched absently at the IV line. Why couldn't Nik believe her, she saw Lucky! Very much alive.
Could it of all been a dream? Had that very real man in front of her, been an illusion? Had someone else saved her from the icy depths of the water? Was she going insane?
Liz sighed, she didn't know the answers to any of those questions. She closed her eyes adn tried to sleep.

Liz awoke from her dream of Lucky to a flutter of activity around her. "What is it?" she muttered.
Bobbie leaned over her, "You pulled out your IV honey, adn went into shcok."
{Remember, I am not a doctor}
"Is everyhting ok?" Liz asked, still groggy from ehr sleep/coma.
Bobbie didn't answer, and Liz was scared. She felt something wet between her legs. SHe threw back the blankets to discover blood.
"My baby!" she cried, "What about my baby."

Audrey adnd Nik stood up as Bobbie approached. They had been called abck to the hospital. Neither ahd any idea waht was going on. When Bobbie ahd called, they didn't know waht was going on. They ahd just been told to come quickly.
"What is it Bobbie?" Audrey asked, concerned.
Bobbie sighed regretfully, "Liz pulled out her IV line and went into shock. Well, to cut to the chase, she lost the baby."
