Lucky stroked Liz's hair with his hand as she slept curled against his chest. She murmered sleepily with pleasure and snuggled closer to him, still asleep.
Lucky's hand froze as he heard a sweet, angelic little voice calling out.
"Mommy, where are the Cheerios?" Lulu shouted up to her mother, who was obviously still in bed.
"In the pantry Sweetie!" Laura called out groggily from Luke and hers bedroom.
Lucky felt bittersweet pleasure at having Lulu so close to him, but not being able to go to her. He ahd missed her so much since he left. HOwever, he had to love her enough to wait to let her know he was alive.
He kissed Liz on the forhead, at least he was able to share himself with her. Nothing anybody could do could pull them apart again. He had tasted life without her and didn't like it.
Lucky eased away from her, being careful not to wake Liz. He sat on hte edge of the bed and pulled on his boxers.
He exhaled slowly. Lucky knew he should have told Elizabeth last night about Helena. He never should have let her initiate anything, she needed to know.
Lucky felt a hand caress his shoulder, "Where are you going?"
"I"m just going to take a shower," Lucky said over his shoulder.
Liz shook her head, "YOu need to wait until Lulu leaves for school. So how about coming back to bed?"
Lucky smiled, "My parents are awake and down the hall, I don't want to be interrupted in the middle of something."
"I know," Liz said, flopping back on the bed.
Lucky laughed and pulled on his pants, "Come on, it's itme to get up anyway."
Liz sighed and wrapped her arms around Lucky from behind, "Do you think this is a good plan?"
Lucky didn't need to ask what she was talking about, "I don't know Baby, I hope it works though. Helena needs to be destroyed, so does Julius."
It's now or never, Lucky told himself frimly, "Liz, I.."
He was interrupted by a voice right outside their door, "Mommy, can I wake up Lizzie?"
Lucky froze, praying Lulu didn't open that door. NOt only would it endanger her life, but he didn't want to have to exlain what he was doing in bed with a nearly naked ELizbaeht to his mother.
Liz's hand froze where it had been stroking Lucky's back. Lulu's innocent voice reverberated in her brain.
"NO dear," Laura called out, "Liz needs her sleep, she went to bed late last night. Besides, you need to get to school Lulu. Jane will be here any minute to walk with you."
Lucky and LIz sighed in relief as the heard the footsteps retreating down the hall.
"That was close," Liz said, getting out of bed, not remembering Lucky had been trying to tell her something before Lulu had interrupted.
Lucky sighed in fustration. Not taht he particularly wanted to tell Liz about the role Helena had played in her rape, but he needed to tell her sometime.
Laura knocked on the door a few minutes later, "Lulu's gone guys."
Lucky stood up, "I claim shower first."

Lucky sat at the kitchen table, clutching a cup of coffee in his hand when his father walked in. He had been reveling in what it felt like to be back in his childhoos home.
"MOrning Cowboy," Luke said cheerfully, pouring himself some of the coffee. He seemed well adjusted to the fact that Lucky was back.
"MOrning dad," Lucky said, "You sleep okay?"
Luke nodded, "You?"
Lucky shrugged, "Good enough."
"You should have," Luke said slyly, "Getting to use taht big bed and all. I didn't see any blankets or anything on the floor when I glanced in the room this morning."
Lucky blushed, and flustered for something to explain it.
Luke held up his hand, "Forget it Lucky. We are all adults here now. Any recriminations from me won't do a darn thing."
"I'm gald you're cool with it dad," Lucky said in relief.
"DOn't get me wrong Cowboy. I'm supposed to act like a parent, so I'll tell you that sex before marriage is wrong and all taht. HOwever, you are definately not the first couple to do it, neither will you be the last. I would lecture you on taking advantage of Liz's gratefullness you are alive, but I know taht is not the case. You two were inseperable befre you left, and she never stopped loving you even after you did." Luke finished his speech, "Well, there I have done my duty."
Lucky nodded, "Dad? Could you not tell mom about this? I mean, it's not something she needs to know."
Luke shrugged, "I won't lie to your mother, but I won't volunteer the information."
"Thanks dad," Lucky said.

Liz walked down the stairs after finishing her shower and getting dresses. She was gretted from sounds of laughter coming from the kitchen. Lucky was sitting and talking to his parents. Not wating to interrupt, she simply walked past the kitchen.
GOing to the living room, she walked to the phone. She dialed the number for General Hospital>
"Hello," she said to the nurse who answered, "I'm calling as to inquire as to the health of Nikolas Cassadine."
"Mr. Cassadine was released this morning Miss," the nurse said cheerfully.
"Thank you," Liz said, and hung up.
"How is he?" Liz heard a voice behinf her ask. It was Laura, she must haev heard Liz walk by the kitchen.
"HE was released this morning," Liz told her, "I assume he's at home."
"And that's where he'll stay," Lucky said, joining them, "If we call him and he finds out what we're up to, he'll want to come be a hero, regardless of his health."
"I agree," Laura said, "As much as I want to see him, I odn't want him to get hurt any worse than he already is."
THey all heard a ringing of the doorbell. Lucky went to hide in the kitchen, while Laura went to answer the door.
She opened it to find Nikolas standing on the doorstep, "Nikolas, waht are you doing here?"
"It's nice to see you too mom," Nik said, hugging her akwardly, given the cast on his broken arm.
"You should be resting at home," Liz admonished.
Lucky came from the kitchen, "She's right."
"I'm fine," Nik insisted, "It's just a small facture. Besides, I wanted to come see my brother."
"Thanks bro," Lucky said, "But are you sure you don't want to go home and take it easy."
Nik seemed to consider taht for a moment, "Let's see, YOu all want to get rid of me. That means one of 2 things. Number one, you all hate me. But, since I am such a great guy, that is impossible, so we must go to option number 2. That is that you are planning something taht you don't want me to be a part of."
Lucky sighed, "Yeah. It's not that we don't want you along. But with your broken arm, it might hinder an escpae or something."
"Oh please," Nik scoffed, "If you think I'm not going to help you capture my grandmother and that other son of a botch, you're dead wrong."
Luke swore underneath his breath, "This is just great. THis is turning into some little party. First Felicia, now Nikolas. How are we supposed to sneak in with a whole posse of us?"
"Felicia knows?" Nik asked, surprised.
"She sort of walked in while we were all in the living room last ngiht and insisted on helping," Liz explained.
Laura glanced at Luke," I think Luke is right though, there is the subject of numbers here. We are going to be to conspicuous. NIk, could you stay with Lulu tonight. I don't want to have to trust her safety with a sitter."
Nik shook his head, "No way mom. I'm coming, one way or another.
Lucky sighed, "I guess we are all going."
*************************************************
When 8 o'clock rolled around, Liz was so nervous she felt like she was going to puke. She prayed fervently that nobody would die tongiht.
Felicia arrived right on time, much to the disappointment of Luke, "Couldn't you have stayed home."
Felicia gave him a withering look, "Yeah, right. I simply told MAc I was doing something he couldn't know about and I'd fill him in later."
Luke swore, "HOney, couldn't you just lie to the man for once?"
Felicia shook her head, "You know how I feel about lying."
"But remember last time you got involved with me in an adventure? Bubba suspected us of having an affair! I'n sure you don't want to trigger his suspicions again." Luke was desperate, thining of reasons for ehr not to go.
"Luke, I'm coming, it's final," she said defiantly.
All of them were dressed in black, hoping to blend in with the night. Laura had cautioned them all to wear light clothes in case they needed to go for a swim.
Eveyone carried a gun. Felicia had brought hers. When Luke had pulled out enough pistols for all of them, she raised an eyebrow, but didn't comment.
Nikolas carried a gun, but it was mostly for show. He was right handed and his right arm was the one that was broken.
Lulu had been shipped off to Bobbie's for the night. Luke had offered no explanations, just told her Lulu needed to stay there until they came back for her.
Laura nervously tugged at ehr shirt. She hadn't faced this kind of danger in years. All that kept her from backing out was her need to take Helena down, dead or alive.
Luke had similar feelings about Helena, but he wasn't even close to backing down. He wanted some answeres from Heir Kraig aka JUlius aka wahtever the hell his real name was. He had been working with him all these years, what was that sickos plan?
Liz shivered as she sat on the couch, as she watched the sun set out the living room window. Lucky walked up behind her, "YOu okay?"
She nodded, "Yeah, I'm fine. Just a little nervous. You raelize I've never fired a gun before?"
Lucky nodded, "And hopefully you still won't after tongiht. I know you want to come along Liz, but there is no shame in backing out."
Liz shook her head, "I"m coming Lucky, nothing will stop me. I know noboy would think les of me for not coming, but I need to. For me as well as you."
Lucky squeezed her shoulder, "I understand Liz, but please be careful. Don't take any unnecessary risks."
"That goes for you too," Liz said, "Don't let Helena rattle you."
NIkolas leaned against the wall and fought off the wave of pain that coursed through his arm. He couldn't show weakness. Not only so they would let him come, but so Helena couldn't expoit it.
He knew she knew some of his weaknesses: Lucky LIz Lulu. He also knew she wouldn't hesitate to use them against him, grandson or not.
He felt responsible in some way for this whole deal. She was his grandmother, like it or not. He felt as if he should ahve known she ws up to somehting, something bad, and stopped it. Irrational feeling or not, he felt guilty.
Luke glanced at the darkened sky through the window and looked at his watch. 10 PM.
"Is everyone okay to go?" he asked, "We should leave now?"
"I"m ready," Laura said too loudly, and everyone choroused in.
"Let's do it," Lucky said grimly, grabbing Liz's hand in his one hand, and his gun in the other.
