Eddie Cibrian joined the cast of "Sunset Beach" as Cole St. John, the mysterious jewel thief and grandson of town founder Armando Deschanel, in February 1997. In addition to his role on the NBC daytime drama, Cibrian can be seen on the syndicated series "Baywatch Nights" as Griff Walker, a young private detective.

Born and raised in California, Cibrian began his acting career as a child by landing a national Coca-Cola commercial on his very first audition. A number of other commercials soon followed, eventually leading him to a starring role in Malcolm-Jamal Warner's Emmy Award-winning television special, "Kids Killing Kids." From there it was on to daytime television, where Cibrian starred for three years as Matt Clark on "The Young and the Restless." His other daytime credits include a featured role on "The Bold and the Beautiful." In addition, he appeared in multiple episodes of "Beverly Hills, 90210" as well as on NBC's "Saved by the Bell: The College Years."

Cibrian is also pursuing a degree in economics at UCLA. In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf, football, tennis, and basketball. He is involved in a number of charity organizations, including the Make a Wish Foundation, the American Paralysis Association, and Stitches, a group in South Central Los Angeles that provides kids with an alternative to gangs. He is single and lives in Toluca Lake, California. His birthday is June 18. From NBC Daytime

Don't be deceived by those dimples. Casting directors sure aren't. Eddie Cibrian, 25, has consistently played characters who belie his cuddly, wholesome facade. On NBC's Sunset Beach, he's sly two-timer Cole Deschanel; this fall he'll be seen as an erotic masseur who rubs Holly Hunter the right way in the big-screen comedy "Living Out Loud," and in the title role of the CBS mafia movie The Hitman (producer-costar Chuck Norris has already signed him for two sequels). If offers keep pouring in, won't SB become an albatross? "Sure, this could backfire, and I'll be going, 'Why the hell did I sign that contract?'" says Cibrian. "But I should be so lucky; it's what I'd call a first-class problem."
