TV NEWS THEMES

Here are some of the TV news themes I have, they are only clips and not the entire theme. Remember all themes are copyrighted by the author and station, the copyrighted date you see listed is when I recorded the theme. WCBS-TV CBS-2

Channel 2 News
This was the closing theme WCBS used to end it's newscasts in 1991.

Remember WCBS' attempt to launch a 4pm newscast. I believe it was 1992. Here is a short clip of the theme, I have a longer clip somewhere.

In 1993 WCBS changed their theme. Here is the main closing theme used during the final years of the Ernie Anastos/Michele Marsh era.

In 1997 WCBS changed their name to 2 News, this was the closing theme WCBS used to end it's newscasts

In 1998 WCBS changed their name AGAIN, this time to News 2. This was the closing theme WCBS used to end it's newscasts.

WNBC-TV NBC-4

News 4 New York-Open
This was the open for WNBC's News 4 New York during the late 1980's and early 90's.

News 4 New York
In 1993 launched it's "We're 4 New York" image/promotion campaign and a theme was created to go along with it. This was the closing theme used in the early 90's by WNBC.

This is the current closing theme used by WNBC.

This is was the theme used by WNBC for teases, majority of the time used as the Lottery bumper.

This is the current Christmas closing theme used by WNBC.

WNYW-TV FOX-5

The 10 O'Clock News
In the early 90's WNYW changed its' theme. This was the theme WNYW used to end it's newscasts in the late 1980's early 90's. This theme was also used by WTTG-TV Washington D.C. until 1997.

In the mid 1990's, WNYW changed its' theme. This was the guitar version of the theme WNYW used to end it's newscasts in the mid 1990's.

WABC-TV ABC-7

Ch.7 Eyewitness News
This was the theme WABC used for the close in the early 90's.

This is my favorite WABC closing theme. It's the same as above except that it has that ticking sound underneath. In my opinion, this theme is better than the update and the current theme.

WWOR-TV UPN-9

Channel 9 News
This was the theme used for teases and the close in the late 80's and early 90's during the Roland Smith era.

This was the theme used for teases and the close in the early 90's during the Roland Smith/Brenda Blackmon era.

News at Noon
This was the closing theme used for WWOR's noon news in the early 90's. Remember 9 Broadcast Plaza, where trash talk was born(Richard Bey).

WPIX-TV WB-11

Ch. 11 News at Ten
This was the theme used for the in the late 80's and early 90's.

WB 11 News at Ten
This was the current theme used for the close. Now they have an updated version.

NEW JERSEY NETWORK 23-50-52-58 PBS

NJN News Close
This is the news theme currently used for the close and teases. "The Emmy Award Winning NJN News" started using this theme a couple of years ago.
