In 1976, Donny and Marie Osmond teamed up for a highly successful television variety show. After four seasons, the twosome decided to go their own ways career-wise. Donny and Marie both tried their hands at theatre, recording solo albums, Donny got into racing cars and lent his voice for the Disney movie Mulan, and Marie became a successful doll designer. It has been nearly 20 years since the wining combination has worked together, but they have done it! Donny and Marie were offered to host a daily television talk show, that premiered September 21, 1998. Donny and Marie have grown up, but remain the same lovable personalities so many people have come to know. Their new show is more talk than variety. However, they like to define it as entertainment/talk, which it certainly is. Not only do they have guests on and interview them, Donny and Marie get on the action! They have had fun activites such as excersize segments, a segment with the Singing Chef, they often sing with guests, take song requests, and so much more. It is wonderful to see the talented duo perform as well as test our their interviewing skills. The show is making many improvements and Donny and marie seem to have the grove back. They have recently been renewed for a second season.
Who other than Dick Clark, the king of hosts himself to produce the new Donny and Marie show, along with Charles Cook. Charles Cook has previously worked for the Oprah Winfrey Show and the Jenny Jones Show. And you can see Jerry Williams, the musical director for Donny and Marie at the piano during the shows.
The Donny and Marie show is taped in Sony Pictures Studio in the Los Angeles area. The tickets are free and for anyone 16 years of age or older. If you can't make it to L.A. you can watch them on TV. Donny and Marie was sold to nearly 100% of the country, so check your local listings for time and channel number. Enjoy the show! |
