Marie Osmond
Marie Osmond was born in Ogden, Utah into a family of seven boys with a younger brother who was born after her. Can you imagine how suprised her parents must have been to hear they had a baby girl after all those sons? When she was just three years old and very shy, she appeared on The Andy Williams Show and even danced with the host. She promised him she would save him a dance on her 16th birthday, and she did.

Although her brothers were known for their rock and roll, Marie went the country way. At age 13, she recorded her first #1hit "Paper Roses," and continued her country singing career into the 1980's with chart topping hits such as "Meet Me in Montana" from her
There's No Stoppin' Your Heart album and "You're Still New to Me" from I Only Wanted You.

In 1976, she teamed up with her brother, Donny, for a weekly TV variety show, appropriately called
Donny and Marie. At only 16 years old (Donny was 18), the twosome became the youngest entertainers to host their own show.

In the 1990's, Marie's career evolved into a theatre career as well. She has performed the lead roles in
The Sound of Music and The King and I. It is amazing how much her voice has developed and how versatile it is. Marie is one talented lady with one beautiful voice!

Since she was a child, Marie has been a doll collector and has even gone on to have her own line of dolls with the LL Knickerbocker Company, Inc. The Marie Osmond Fine Porcelain Collector Dolls, are sold on the QVC Network via television or on their website. In her own personal collection, Marie has acquired nearly 700 dolls and her line of dolls has over 200 dolls!

Another of Marie's passions is the Chidren's Miracle Network, which is the most successful telethon in the history of TV; the CMN has raised over half a billion dollars in the past 16 years. She is co-founder along with her friend, actor John Schneider. The CMN benefits children in hospitals throughout the world.

Currently, Marie is back to work with Donny on the
Donny and Marie show. Marie moved from Utah and now resides in Los Angeles, where the show is taped, with her husband Brian Blosil and their six children. At only 39, Marie is certainly an accomplished and multi-talented woman. There are many more years ahead of her, and many more accomplishments the hard-working Marie will surely do.
