DAVID OGDEN STIERS

Mr.Bauer

David Ogden Stiers was born October 31, 1942 in Peoria, Illinois. He has conducted 70 orchestras in over 100
appearances and has been the reader on several Audio Books, including a few Tom Clancy novels.
Stiers is best known to television audiences as Major Charles Winchester of "M*A*S*H" fame, for
which he received two Emmy nominations. He was a favorite of "Murder She Wrote," appearing
often as a guest star, which comes as no surprise because MSW's leading lady Angela Lansbury
shares the screen with him in the well-known Disney animated movie "Beauty and the Beast" (he
has also lent his voice to other Disney classics "Pocohontas" and "The Hunchback of Notre
Dame"). Another notable guest-starring appearance is that he played a blind man who turned out
to be the killer on "Matlock" (ironically, he was an artist who worked in clay, much like the
description he gave in the TGAGAAPP episode "Two Guys, a Girl and an Apartment")
His film career is equally prolific. He has appeared in "Meet Wally Sparks" and "Kippendorf's
Tribe" with Alan Rachins and Jenna Elfman, who both star in TGAGAAPP's "sister show" "Dharma & Greg", as
well as in numerous other movies, including "Better Off Dead" where he played John Cusack's father.
