Ajay belongs to the Royal family of Nawabnagar in Gujurat now known as Jamnagar.Ajay is a descendent of Duleep Singh & Ranjith Singh after whom the Ranjhi trophy is named.Though royalty runs in his blood it is in the form of some excellent cricket.

His royal background comes from his father's side while his mother is a Malyalee from Allepey District in Kerala.Ajay also has an elder brother.Ajay's father Mr.Daulatsinghji P Jadeja was a congress Mp of Jamnagar.
